Simple Pivot Design
uses a rocker arm pivot design which produces a down and back motion, much different than other air ride products on the market.
No Ball Coupler or Pintle
Ring Included. This does not include the ball coupler. We recommend a bolt on vertical channel wallace forge or demco ball coupler or a shocker pintle ring that is designed to fit the 3" wide front…
25,000 lbs GTW & 3,500 lbs Tongue Weight Capacity. (Note
For 25K tow capacity, make sure the coupler you use is rated at 25k).
Heavier Loads, Just Add Air
Fine tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads.
Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
The Shocker Heavy Duty 25K Air Tongue Mount is the flagship trailer-side air ride hitch. Bolts directly to your trailer A-frame, putting air ride on the trailer instead of the truck — so any tow vehicle gets a smoother tow. Rated up to 25,000 lbs GTW with tongue weight. Sold as a base frame OR with a pre-installed coupler. Built-in 3-inch front channel accepts a vertical-channel coupler or pintle ring.

How It Works
Air Ride Suspension
A built-in 20K-rated air bag sits between the coupler and the trailer A-frame, absorbing road shock before it reaches your trailer frame, cargo, and tow vehicle.
Adjustable for Any Load
Add or release air to fine-tune the ride for your trailer weight. Heavier load? More air. Light or empty trailer? Less air. Dial in the perfect pressure every time.
Rocker Arm Pivot Design
The coupler pivots down and back on a rocker arm — no slides, rollers, or parallel linkages. Fewer moving parts means less maintenance and longer life.
Maximum Ground Clearance
The air ride system mounts above the trailer tongue, keeping ground clearance at a maximum for steep approaches, off-road equipment trailers, and tilt-deck haulers.
Ideal For These Heavy Trailers
The 25K rating positions this as the heaviest tongue-mount tier — designed for serious commercial and recreational haulers:
- End dump trailers and heavy equipment trailers
- Race car haulers and stacker trailers
- Skid steer and tilt-deck equipment trailers
- HD flatbed trailers and lowboys (within rating)
- Large enclosed cargo and tool trailers
- Any A-frame trailer up to 25,000 lbs GTW with up to tongue weight
Two Mounting Geometries
Choose the variant that matches your trailer A-frame configuration:
Vertical Channel Mount (SH-HD4000 series)
Fits 3-1/2-inch wide vertical channel with 2-inch center-on-center bolt pattern. Secure with 5/8-inch pins or bolts (4-1/2 inches long recommended). Most common configuration for fabricated trailer A-frames.
Square Plate Mount, 4-Bolt (SH-HD4500 series)
4-1/2-inch square bolt pattern. Bolts directly to a flat plate on the trailer tongue. Simple 4-bolt installation. Common on factory-built dump and equipment trailers.
Bring Your Own Coupler — Or Buy It Bundled
The HD 25K is sold as a base frame OR with a pre-installed coupler. The 3-inch front channel accepts any vertical-channel-mount ball coupler or pintle ring rated up to 25,000 lbs. Recommended bundles: Demco EZ-Latch (DEM-14040-81) at 21K, Wallace Forge auto-locking at 20K or 25K, or Shocker SH-P20000-B pintle ring at 20K. Note: total tow rating is limited by the lowest-rated component in the chain — match your coupler to your trailer GTW.
Why Mount the Air Ride on the Trailer?
When the air ride lives on the trailer instead of the truck, every tow vehicle that hooks up benefits automatically. This matters most for fleet trailers pulled by different drivers, rental trailers, equipment trailers shared between operators, and any commercial setup where the trailer is the constant. The HD 25K is the heaviest tongue mount we make — designed for end-dump operators, race haulers, equipment fleets, and anyone whose trailer matters more than which truck pulls it. Backed by the Shocker Hitch lifetime frame warranty.
