Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Pull a heavy trailer over frost heaves and hard stops and you feel every jolt run straight up the tongue, into your cargo, and back into the truck. The Shocker Heavy Duty 25K Air Tongue Mount takes that hit for you. It bolts right onto your trailer A-frame and puts the air ride on the trailer instead of the truck, so any tow vehicle that hooks up gets a smoother tow. It handles up to 21,000 lbs GTW with 2,100 lbs of tongue weight, which is real breathing room when the load rides heavy up front. Order it as a bare base frame or with a coupler already installed. The built-in 3-inch front channel takes a vertical-channel coupler or a pintle ring.
Key Highlights
- Handles up to 21,000 lbs GTW and 2,100 lbs of tongue weight, the heaviest tongue-mount tier we build

- Square Plate Mount bolts straight onto heavy factory-built A-frame trailers
- Buy it bare or with the coupler already installed and ready to tow

How It Works
The Air Bag Takes the Hit
A 20K-rated air bag sits between the coupler and the trailer A-frame. It catches the road shock and cushions it before it can reach your trailer frame, your cargo, or your truck.
Dial It In for Your Load
Add air when the trailer runs heavy and let some out when it is light or empty. A few pumps sets the right pressure so the ride stays smooth whether you are loaded up or running bare.
Simple Rocker Arm, Fewer Parts
The coupler pivots down and back on a rocker arm, with no slides, rollers, or parallel linkages to wear out. Fewer moving parts means less to maintain and a longer working life.
Keeps Your Ground Clearance
The air ride mounts above the trailer tongue instead of hanging below it, so you keep full ground clearance for steep approaches, off-road equipment trailers, and tilt-deck haulers.
Built for Your Heaviest Trailers
The 25K rating puts this at the top of the tongue-mount range, made for serious commercial and recreational haulers:
- End dump trailers and heavy equipment trailers
- Race car haulers and stacker trailers
- Skid steer and tilt-deck equipment trailers
- HD flatbed trailers and lowboys (within rating)
- Large enclosed cargo and tool trailers
- Any A-frame trailer up to 21,000 lbs GTW with up to 2,100 lbs tongue weight
Two Ways It Bolts On
Pick the version that matches how your trailer A-frame is built:
Vertical Channel Mount (SH-HD4000 series)
Fits a 3-1/2-inch wide vertical channel with a 2-inch center-on-center bolt pattern. Pin or bolt it in place with 5/8-inch hardware (4-1/2 inches long is what we recommend). This is the common setup on shop-fabricated trailer A-frames.
Square Plate Mount, 4-Bolt (SH-HD4500 series)
Uses a 4-1/2-inch square bolt pattern and bolts straight to a flat plate on the trailer tongue. Four bolts and you are done. You see this a lot on factory-built dump and equipment trailers.
Bring Your Own Coupler, or Buy It Bundled
Order the HD 25K as a bare base frame or with a coupler already installed. The 3-inch front channel takes any vertical-channel-mount ball coupler or pintle ring rated up to 25,000 lbs. Popular pairings are the Demco EZ-Latch (DEM-14040-81) at 21K, the Wallace Forge auto-locking coupler at 20K or 25K, and the Shocker SH-P20000-B pintle ring at 20K. One thing to keep in mind: your total tow rating is only as high as the lowest-rated piece in the chain, so match the coupler to your trailer GTW.
Why Mount the Air Ride on the Trailer?
Put the air ride on the trailer instead of the truck and every vehicle that hooks up gets the benefit, with nothing to swap between trucks. That is a big deal for fleet trailers that see different drivers, rental trailers, equipment trailers shared between operators, and any commercial job where the trailer stays the same but the truck changes. The HD 25K is the heaviest tongue mount we make, built for end-dump operators, race haulers, equipment fleets, and anyone whose trailer matters more than which truck is pulling it that day. Every one is backed by the Shocker Hitch 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
