I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable Pintle Hook & Ball Mount

Fits 6" OD x 3" ID pintle rings, with an adjustable design offering a 1" rise to 6-1/2" drop and 7 adjustment holes for flexibility in height.

HD Pivoting Design

Filters the rock shock through the urethane cushions with the greaseable 1" diameter 1045 carbon steel pivot bolt.

Unique Flip Around Design

Hitch can be flipped around more drop or rise. The only cushion hitch on the market that can be flipped around.

Dual Cushion Bump System

Absorbs road shock, bumps, and jerks, reducing sway and providing a smoother towing experience. Cushions forward & backwards plus up & down for maximum cushioning.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Pull 20,000 pounds behind a 1-ton with a solid mount and you feel every frost heave and every hard stop come straight up through the cab, with the load chucking against the truck the whole way. It wears on you, on the trailer, and on the cargo. The Shocker Impact Max 20K takes that beating out of the ride. This Impact Max Cushion Hitch & 8-Ton Channel Style Pintle Hook with 2" Ball runs the same dual rubber bump cushion design as the Impact Cushion 14K, built on the beefed-up 20K chassis and finished in matte black powder coat. It hauls 20,000 lbs GTW with up to 2,000 lb of tongue weight, drops into 3-inch receivers, and adjusts from 1" Rise to 6-1/2" Drop, with no air pressure to manage and nothing to maintain.

Key Highlights

  • Hauls 20,000 lbs GTW with up to 2,000 lb of tongue weight, the heaviest loads a 1-ton is rated to pull
  • Sealed dual rubber cushions smooth the ride with no air pressure to set and nothing to maintain
  • Chip-resistant matte black powder coat that hides grime and looks right on a blacked-out truck
  • 3-inch shank drops into F-350, RAM 3500, and dual-rear-wheel one-ton receivers (class V/VI)
  • 7-hole frame flips over to give you more drop or more rise for a level tow
  • Takes the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black lineup
  • Runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the HD Max Black 20K air-ride version
  • Built for 1-ton pickups and dual-rear-wheel trucks working right at the 20K limit

Why the 20K Cushion Is Worth It

Enough Capacity for a 1-Ton

The 14K Impact Cushion handles half-tons and plenty of 3/4-tons just fine. But the day you hook a skid steer, a loaded dump trailer, or a heavy equipment hauler to a 1-ton, you need more hitch under you. The 20K chassis gives you the same cushion technology on heavier-duty steel, so the ride stays smooth right up to the weight these trucks were built to pull.

Two Rubber Cushions Doing the Work

Two sealed rubber cushions squeeze and rebound to soak up the shock before it reaches the truck. The ball mount pivots as they flex, and that is what lets a cushion hitch ride smoother than a solid mount even when you are loaded to full GTW.

Matte Black That Hides the Miles

The textured matte black powder coat shrugs off road grime and resists chipping, and it looks right behind a blacked-out truck instead of clashing with it. It is the same finish family as the HD Max Black air-ride line.

Nothing to Pump Up

Air-ride hitches at this capacity need a compressor and a pressure gauge before every heavy tow. The Impact Max 20K is sealed, so there is nothing to inflate and nothing to check. Out on a remote job site or a back forty where dragging out a compressor is a pain, that is one less thing standing between you and the road.

The Trucks and Trailers It's Built For

Twenty thousand pounds is real weight, and it takes a real hitch. The Impact Max is built for the trucks and loads that pull it, without adding an air-ride routine to your day.

  • 1-ton pickups like the F-350, RAM 3500, and GMC 3500HD
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks loaded to full GTW
  • Skid steer trailers, dump trailers, and equipment haulers
  • Contractor and ranch trailers riding at or near 20,000 lbs
  • Fleet trucks where simple and tough beats tunable
  • Owners who outgrew the Impact Cushion 14K and need more capacity

Impact Max 20K vs HD Max Black 20K

Same 20K chassis, same matte black finish. What you are really choosing between is sealed rubber cushions and a tunable airbag.

Option 1

Impact Max 20K (this product)

Rubber cushions, sealed and maintenance-free. It runs about 30 to 40% cheaper than the air-ride version, with no compressor and no pressure gauge to fuss with. This is the one to grab if you want a clear ride upgrade over a solid mount and would rather keep things simple and tough.

Option 2

HD Max Black 20K (air-ride sibling)

An adjustable airbag you dial in for whatever you are pulling that day. It gives more travel and a smoother ride at any tongue weight, though it needs an inflator, and the airbag is a wear item over many years (field-replaceable when the time comes). Best for daily towers and heavy-haul operators who want to tune the ride.

Built for the Job Site

On a working ranch, a remote job site, or a busy fleet yard, you do not always have a minute to check airbag pressure before you pull out. The Impact Max 20K takes that step off your plate. Hook up, pull, unhook, and do it again, year after year, with no maintenance routine to remember. If you want Shocker capacity and ride quality but you treat a hitch like any other piece of equipment on the truck, this is the line built for you.

Shares Attachments With the HD Max Black

The Impact Max 20K takes the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black, including combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Run more than one truck in the Shocker lineup and your attachments swap across the whole 20K family, so you buy the piece once and move it where you need it. The textured matte black powder coat stands up to UV, road salt, and rock chips, and it ships direct from stock in Canada with no border wait.
