I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Haul a loaded equipment trailer behind a 1-ton with a solid mount and you feel every frost heave and hard stop slam straight up through the truck, beating on your hitch, your cargo, and your spine. The Impact Max Cushion Hitch and Channel Style Pintle Hook takes that hit for you. It runs the same two sealed rubber bump cushions proven on the lighter Impact Cushion 14K, now on a beefed-up 20K chassis in a matte black powder coat. That means it carries 20,000 lbs of trailer with up to 2,000 lbs coming down on the tongue, enough for the heaviest load you will put behind a 1-ton or dual-rear-wheel truck. The 2-1/2-inch shank drops into class V receivers, and the reversible frame sits any trailer level with 1" of rise up to 6-1/2" of drop. And there is no air pressure to set, no compressor to run, and nothing to maintain. Hook up and pull.

Key Highlights

  • Pulls 20,000 lbs of trailer with up to 2,000 lbs on the tongue, the heaviest you will tow behind a 1-ton
  • Two sealed rubber cushions soak up road shock, with no air pressure to set and nothing to maintain
  • Matte black powder coat hides grime and shrugs off chips to match a blacked-out truck
  • 2-1/2-inch shank drops straight into the class V receivers on F-250 / RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks
  • 7-hole frame flips over so you can dial in more drop or rise and tow level
  • Takes the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black, so one set of gear covers your fleet
  • Costs roughly 30 to 40% less than the HD Max Black 20K air-ride version
  • Built for 1-ton pickups and dual-rear-wheel trucks working right at the 20K limit

Why a 20K Cushion Hitch

Real Capacity for 1-Ton Trucks

The 14K Impact Cushion is plenty of hitch for a half-ton and most 3/4-tons. But strap a skid steer, a loaded dump trailer, or a heavy equipment hauler to a 1-ton and you are into 20K territory. This is the same cushion setup you already trust, built on heavier steel so it does not flinch at the top end.

Dual Rubber Bump Cushions

Two sealed rubber cushions squeeze and rebound to swallow the shock a solid mount would send straight into your truck. The ball mount pivots as they work, so the ride stays smoother than a fixed hitch even when you are loaded to the full 20,000 lbs.

Matte Black Stealth Finish

The textured matte black powder coat hides road grime, fights off rock chips, and looks right at home on a blacked-out truck. It is the same finish family as the HD Max Black air-ride line.

No Compressor Required

Air-ride hitches at this capacity need a compressor and a pressure gauge you check before every tow. The Impact Max 20K is sealed, so there is neither. On a remote job site or out on the ranch where dragging a compressor around is not practical, that is one less thing to babysit.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

Twenty thousand pounds is serious weight. The Impact Max is built for the trucks and trailers that live at that number, with none of the air-ride fuss.

  • 1-ton pickups like the F-350, RAM 3500, and GMC 3500HD
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks loaded to full GTW
  • Skid steer trailers, dump trailers, and equipment haulers
  • Contractor and ranch trailers pulling at or near 20,000 lbs
  • Fleet trucks where simple and tough beats adjustable
  • Owners who outgrew the Impact Cushion 14K and need more capacity

Impact Max 20K vs HD Max Black 20K

Same 20K chassis, same matte black finish. The only real question is how you want the ride handled.

Option 1

Impact Max 20K (this product)

Sealed rubber cushions do the work, so there is nothing to inflate and nothing to maintain. No compressor, no pressure gauge, and it runs roughly 30 to 40% cheaper. Go this way if you want a real ride upgrade over a solid mount and would rather keep things dead simple and tough.

Option 2

HD Max Black 20K (air-ride sibling)

An adjustable airbag lets you dial pressure to match each load, for more travel and a smoother ride at any tongue weight. It needs an inflator, and the airbag is a wear item over many years, though you can replace it in the field. Go this way if you tow daily or haul heavy and want to tune the ride.

Built for the Job Site

On a working ranch, a remote site, or a busy fleet yard, you do not always have a spare minute to check airbag pressure before you roll. The Impact Max 20K skips that step for good. You hook up, pull, unhook, and do it again the next day, for years, with no maintenance routine hanging over you. If you want Shocker capacity and ride quality but want to treat the hitch like any other piece of fleet gear, this is the one built for you.

Same Attachments as the HD Max Black

The Impact Max 20K takes the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black. Combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts all swap right in. Run a few trucks across the Shocker lineup and one set of attachments works across the whole 20K family, so you are not buying doubles. The textured matte black powder coat stands up to UV, road salt, and rock chips, and every unit ships from our Canadian stock, so there is no border wait.
