Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Pull a heavy trailer behind a 1-ton and you feel every bump the road throws at you. Frost heaves, potholes, and hard stops slam straight through a solid hitch into the truck, the trailer, and whatever you have strapped down back there. The Shocker Impact Max 20K softens that hit. It is the heavy-duty cushion hitch built for 1-ton trucks and 20,000 lb loads, using the same dual rubber bump cushion design as the Impact Cushion 14K, now on the beefed-up 20K chassis with a matte black powder coat finish. This Impact Max Cushion Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/2-5/16" Ball hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW with as much as 2,000 lb on the tongue, slides into 2-1/2-inch receivers, and gives you 0" to 7-1/2" of drop so your trailer rides level. Best part: there is zero air pressure to manage and no ongoing maintenance.
Key Highlights
- Hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW with 2,000 lb on the tongue, enough for the heaviest trailer you'll put behind a 1-ton
- Sealed dual rubber cushions soak up road shock with no air pressure to set and nothing to maintain
- Matte black powder coat shrugs off rock chips and road grime and looks right on a blacked-out truck
- 2-1/2-inch shank drops into F-250 / RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton receivers (class V)
- 7-hole frame flips over so you can dial in extra drop or rise for a level tow
- Runs the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black, so one set covers your whole fleet
- Costs roughly 30 to 40% less than the HD Max Black 20K air-ride version
- Built for 1-ton pickups and dually trucks working right at the 20K limit

Why a 20K Cushion Hitch
Enough Muscle for a 1-Ton
The 14K Impact Cushion handles half-tons and plenty of three-quarter-tons just fine. But the day you hook up a skid steer trailer, a loaded dump trailer, or an equipment hauler behind a 1-ton, you need the 20K chassis under you. Same cushion technology, heavier steel to match the load.
Two Rubber Cushions Doing the Work
Two sealed rubber cushions take the hit for you, squeezing and springing back to swallow the shock a load sends up through the ball. The ball mount pivots on those cushions, which is why it rides smoother than a solid mount even when you are loaded to full GTW.
Matte Black That Holds Up
The textured matte black powder coat hides road grime, resists chipping, and looks at home behind a modern blacked-out truck. It is the same finish family as the HD Max Black air-ride line.
Nothing to Plug In or Pump Up
Air-ride hitches at this capacity need a compressor and a gauge to run. The Impact Max 20K is sealed shut and needs neither. That is a real difference on a remote job site or out on the ranch, where dragging a compressor around is not always practical.
Built For These Trucks and Trailers
Twenty thousand pounds is serious weight. The Impact Max is built for the trucks and loads that actually need it, minus the air-ride routine.
- 1-ton pickups like the F-350, RAM 3500, and GMC 3500HD
- Dually trucks loaded right up to full GTW
- Skid steer trailers, dump trailers, and equipment haulers
- Contractor and ranch trailers running at or near 20,000 lbs
- Fleet trucks where you want simple and tough over adjustable
- Owners who outgrew the Impact Cushion 14K and need more capacity
Impact Max 20K vs HD Max Black 20K
Same 20K chassis, same matte black finish. Which one you pick comes down to how you want the ride handled.
Impact Max 20K (this product)
Rubber cushions, sealed and maintenance-free, and about 30 to 40% cheaper. No compressor or pressure gauge to deal with. This is the pick if you want a simple, tough hitch that rides noticeably better than a solid mount and never asks you to check a pressure setting.
HD Max Black 20K (air-ride sibling)
An adjustable airbag you tune with pressure to match any load, giving more travel and a smoother ride at any tongue weight. It needs an inflator, and the airbag is a wear item over many years (field-replaceable when that day comes). Best for daily towers and heavy-haul operators who want that adjustability.
Built for the Job Site
On a working ranch, a remote job site, or a busy fleet yard, you do not always have a spare minute to check airbag pressure before you roll out. The Impact Max 20K deletes that step. Hook up, pull, unhook, and do it again, year after year, with no maintenance routine hanging over you. If you want Shocker capacity and ride quality but treat your hitch like any other piece of fleet gear, this is the one built for you.
Same Attachments as the HD Max Black
The Impact Max 20K takes the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black, including combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. If you run more than one truck across the Shocker lineup, one set of attachments crosses over the whole 20K family. It wears a textured matte black powder coat that stands up to UV, road salt, and rock chips, and it is stocked in Canada so it ships direct with no border wait.
