Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
The Shocker Impact Max 20K is the heavy-duty cushion hitch built for 1-ton trucks and 20,000 lb loads. Same proven dual rubber bump cushion design as the Impact Cushion 14K, but on the beefed-up 20K chassis with a matte black powder coat finish. This Impact Max Cushion Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/2-5/16" Ball carries 20,000 lbs GTW with up to 2,000 lb tongue weight, fits 2-inch receivers, and offers 0" to 7-1/2" Drop — all with zero air pressure to manage and no ongoing maintenance.

Why a 20K Cushion Hitch
Real Capacity for 1-Ton Trucks
The 14K Impact Cushion is plenty for half-tons and many 3/4-tons. But once you are pulling skid steers, dump trailers, or heavy equipment haulers behind a 1-ton, you need the 20K chassis. Same cushion technology, heavier-duty steel.
Dual Rubber Bump Cushions
Two sealed rubber cushions absorb tow shock through compression and rebound. The pivoting ball mount geometry is what makes a cushion hitch ride smoother than a solid mount, even at full GTW.
Matte Black Stealth Finish
Textured matte black powder coat hides road grime, resists chipping, and pairs cleanly with modern blacked-out trucks. Same finish family as the HD Max Black air-ride line.
No Compressor Required
Unlike air-ride hitches at this capacity, the Impact Max 20K is sealed and requires no compressor or pressure gauge. That matters on remote job sites and ranch work where running a compressor is not always practical.
Built For These Trucks and Trailers
Twenty thousand pounds is serious capacity. The Impact Max is designed for the trucks and loads that demand it — without the air-ride workflow.
- 1-ton pickups (F-350, RAM 3500, GMC 3500HD)
- Dual-rear-wheel trucks at full GTW
- Skid steer trailers, dump trailers, equipment haulers
- Contractor and ranch trailers pulling at or near 20,000 lbs
- Fleet trucks where simplicity and durability beat tunability
- Buyers stepping up from the Impact Cushion 14K who outgrew its capacity
Impact Max 20K vs HD Max Black 20K
Same 20K chassis family, same matte black finish. The choice comes down to suspension technology.
Impact Max 20K (this product)
Rubber cushions. Sealed and maintenance-free. About 30–40% cheaper. Zero compressor or pressure gauge required. Best for buyers who want simplicity, durability, and a clear ride upgrade over solid mounts — without the air-ride workflow.
HD Max Black 20K (air-ride sibling)
Adjustable airbag with tunable pressure for any load. More travel and a smoother ride at any tongue weight. Requires an inflator. Airbag is field-replaceable but is a wear item over many years. Best for daily towers and heavy-haul operators who value adjustability.
Built for the Job Site
On a working ranch, a remote job site, or a fleet yard, you do not always have time to check airbag pressure before a tow. The Impact Max 20K removes that step entirely. Hook up, pull, unhook, repeat — for years, with no maintenance routine. For buyers who want Shocker capacity and ride quality but treat the hitch like any other piece of fleet equipment, this is the line built for you.
Same Attachments as the HD Max Black
The Impact Max 20K shares ball mount attachments with the HD Max Black — combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, drop mounts. If you are running multiple trucks across the Shocker ecosystem, your attachments cross-compatible across the 20K product family. Manufactured by Shocker Hitch in Jamestown, ND, with a textured matte black powder coat that holds up to UV, road salt, and rock chips.
