I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Shocker Absorbing Design

Pivoting design with dual bump cushions absorbs the road shock & reduces the tendency to sway

Max Black Textured Finish

Impact resistant super durable textured matte black powder coated finish of base frame

Choose Hitch Ball

Pick between a 2″ ball (rated at 10,000 lbs. tow cap) or a 2-5/16″ ball (rated at 20,000 lbs. tow cap)

Built-in Sway Bar Tabs

2 built-in sway control bar tabs for mounting the basic sway control arm bar(s) & mini balls (such as the Shocker 17200 friction sway control kit or Reese 83660 Sway Kit)

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Pull twenty-thousand pounds behind a 1-ton and you feel every frost heave and hard stop punch straight up through the truck. A solid mount passes all of it to your back, your trailer, and whatever you are hauling. The Shocker Impact Max 20K takes that hit for you. Two sealed rubber bump cushions soak up the jarring and chucking so the ride settles down and your stops stay under control. This Impact Max Cushion Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/2" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs carries 20,000 lbs GTW with up to 2,000 lb of tongue weight, drops into a 2-inch receiver, and gives you 3" Drop to 5" Rise. It runs the same proven dual rubber cushion design as the Impact Cushion 14K on a beefed-up 20K chassis in matte black powder coat, with zero air pressure to manage and no ongoing maintenance.

Key Highlights

  • Hauls a full 20,000 lbs GTW with up to 2,000 lb on the tongue, the heaviest loads a 1-ton will pull
  • Sealed dual rubber cushions smooth the ride with no air pressure to set and no maintenance to keep up
  • Chip-resistant matte black powder coat that hides grime and matches a blacked-out truck
  • 2-inch shank drops into F-150-class half-ton trucks and class III/IV receivers
  • 7-hole adjustable frame flips over to give you more drop or more rise for a level tow
  • Runs the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black ecosystem
  • Costs roughly 30 to 40% less than the HD Max Black 20K air-ride version

What the 20K Cushion Gives You

Enough Muscle for a 1-Ton

The 14K Impact Cushion handles a half-ton and plenty of three-quarter-tons just fine. Once you are dragging a loaded skid steer, a dump trailer, or a heavy equipment hauler behind a 1-ton, you are into weight that needs the 20K chassis. Same cushion that smooths the ride, wrapped in heavier-duty steel that carries the load.

Two Cushions Doing the Work

Two sealed rubber cushions take the road shock through compression and rebound instead of slamming it into your rig. The pivoting ball mount geometry is the reason a cushion hitch rides smoother than a solid mount, even loaded right up to full GTW.

Matte Black That Stays Sharp

Textured matte black powder coat hides road grime, shrugs off chips, and looks right at home under a blacked-out truck. It is the same finish family as the HD Max Black air-ride line, so it matches the rest of the lineup.

Nothing to Plug In

Air-ride hitches at this capacity need a compressor and a pressure gauge. The Impact Max 20K is sealed and needs neither. Out on a remote job site or back on the ranch where a compressor is not always handy, you just hook up and go.

Who This Hitch Is Built For

Twenty thousand pounds is serious weight. The Impact Max is built for the trucks and loads that actually need it, without the air-ride workflow that usually comes with it.

  • 1-ton pickups like the F-350, RAM 3500, and GMC 3500HD
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks towing at full GTW
  • Skid steer trailers, dump trailers, and equipment haulers
  • Contractor and ranch trailers running at or near 20,000 lbs
  • Fleet trucks where simple and tough beats tunable
  • Owners stepping up from the Impact Cushion 14K who ran out of capacity

Impact Max 20K vs HD Max Black 20K

Same 20K chassis family and the same matte black finish. The only real question is how you want the ride cushioned.

Option 1

Impact Max 20K (this product)

Sealed rubber cushions, nothing to maintain, and roughly 30 to 40% cheaper. No compressor and no pressure gauge to keep an eye on. This is the pick when you want a real ride upgrade over a solid mount and would rather skip the air-ride routine entirely.

Option 2

HD Max Black 20K (air-ride sibling)

An adjustable airbag you dial to the load, with more travel and a smoother ride at any tongue weight. It needs an inflator to set pressure, and the airbag is a field-replaceable wear item over many years of use. This one is for daily towers and heavy-haul operators who want to fine-tune the ride.

Built for the Job Site

On a working ranch, a remote job site, or a busy fleet yard, nobody has time to check airbag pressure before every tow. The Impact Max 20K takes that step off your list. Hook up, pull, unhook, and do it again for years with no maintenance routine to keep up. If you want Shocker capacity and ride quality but want to treat the hitch like any other tough piece of fleet gear, this is the line for you.

Same Attachments as the HD Max Black

The Impact Max 20K takes the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black, so combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts all fit. Run more than one truck across the Shocker ecosystem and your attachments carry over across the whole 20K product family, which means one set of gear covers the fleet. The textured matte black powder coat stands up to UV, road salt, and rock chips, and every hitch is stocked in Canada, so it ships direct with no border wait.
