Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Pull a loaded skid-steer trailer or a full dump trailer behind a 1-ton and you feel every frost heave and hard stop come straight up through the truck. That constant jarring and chucking wears on you, on the truck, and on the trailer and its load. The Shocker Impact Max 20K is the heavy-duty cushion hitch built to soak it up. It uses the same proven dual rubber bump cushion design as the Impact Cushion 14K, now on the beefed-up 20K chassis with a matte black powder coat finish. This Impact Max Cushion Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/2-5/16" Ball hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW with as much as 2,000 lb of tongue weight, drops into 2-inch receivers, and gives you 3" Drop to 5" Rise. There is zero air pressure to manage and no ongoing maintenance, so you hook up and go.
Key Highlights
- Hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW with 2,000 lb of tongue weight, the heavy stuff a 1-ton actually pulls
- Sealed dual rubber cushions soak up the jarring, with no air pressure to check and no maintenance
- Matte black powder coat shrugs off road grime and rock chips and matches a blacked-out truck
- 2-inch shank drops into F-150-class half-ton receivers (class III and IV)
- 7-hole adjustable frame flips over for more drop or more rise so you tow level
- Takes the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black, so one set of gear works across your trucks
- Runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the HD Max Black 20K air-ride version
- Built for 1-ton pickups and dual-rear-wheel trucks pulling right at the 20K limit

What the 20K Cushion Buys You
Real Capacity for a 1-Ton
The 14K Impact Cushion handles half-tons and plenty of 3/4-tons just fine. Once you are dragging skid steers, dump trailers, and heavy equipment haulers behind a 1-ton, you want the 20K chassis under you. It is the same cushion technology built on heavier-duty steel.
Dual Rubber Bump Cushions
Two sealed rubber cushions take the hit for you, compressing and rebounding to pull the harshness out of every bump. The ball mount pivots as they work, and that geometry is why a cushion hitch rides smoother than a solid mount even when you are loaded to full GTW.
Matte Black That Holds Up
The textured matte black powder coat hides road grime and resists chipping, and it looks right on a modern blacked-out truck. It comes from the same finish family as the HD Max Black air-ride line.
No Compressor Required
Air-ride hitches at this capacity want a compressor and a pressure gauge in the mix. The Impact Max 20K is sealed and needs neither one. That earns its keep on a remote job site or out on the ranch, where dragging out a compressor before a tow is not always practical.
Built For These Trucks and Trailers
Twenty thousand pounds is serious weight. The Impact Max is built for the trucks and loads that demand it, without the air-ride workflow to babysit.
- 1-ton pickups (F-350, RAM 3500, GMC 3500HD)
- Dual-rear-wheel trucks running at full GTW
- Skid steer trailers, dump trailers, and equipment haulers
- Contractor and ranch trailers pulling at or near 20,000 lbs
- Fleet trucks where simplicity and durability beat tunability
- Owners stepping up from the Impact Cushion 14K who outgrew its capacity
Impact Max 20K vs HD Max Black 20K
Same 20K chassis family, same matte black finish. The choice comes down to how you want the ride handled.
Impact Max 20K (this product)
Sealed rubber cushions that never need service. It runs about 30 to 40% cheaper, with no compressor or pressure gauge to bother with. This is your pick if you want a clear ride upgrade over a solid mount and would rather keep things simple and durable.
HD Max Black 20K (air-ride sibling)
An adjustable airbag you tune to any load, giving you more travel and a smoother ride at any tongue weight. It needs an inflator, and the airbag is a wear item over the years, though you can swap it in the field. This is the pick for daily towers and heavy-haul operators who want that adjustability.
Built for the Job Site
On a working ranch, a remote job site, or a busy fleet yard, you do not always have a minute to check airbag pressure before you pull out. The Impact Max 20K takes that step off your plate. You hook up, pull, unhook, and do it again, for years, with no maintenance routine to remember. If you want Shocker capacity and ride quality but would rather treat the hitch like any other piece of fleet gear, this is the line built for you.
Same Attachments as the HD Max Black
The Impact Max 20K takes the same ball mount attachments as the HD Max Black, including combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. If you run more than one truck across the Shocker ecosystem, those attachments cross over the whole 20K product family, so you can standardize on one set of gear. It is finished in a textured matte black powder coat that stands up to UV, road salt, and rock chips, and it is stocked in Canada so it ships direct with no border wait.
