Note this is made in China. It is designed to work with the Shocker Air Ride Equalizer & friction sway arm bar kits (both sold separately)

Ball Mount Has Sway Arm Bar Mounts

For additional sway control, friction sway arm bar kits are available and sold separately. The hitch head has sway bar mount tabs.

Chain Style Weight Distribution Hitch

Evenly distributes the weight over the axles of tow your vehicle and trailer to add stability and control. Chain style design makes it easier to adjust the load bars.

Features 2-5/16" Ball

Comes with a 2-5/16" preinstalled hitch ball that is torqued to proper specifications.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Hook up a heavy trailer and you feel it right away. The nose of the truck lifts, the tail squats, your headlights point at the treetops, and the steering goes light and vague. Push that setup up to highway speed and the trailer starts shoving the back of the truck around. This chain-style weight distribution hitch pulls that back into line. It spreads the trailer's tongue weight across the axles of both the truck and the trailer, so the whole rig sits level and steers the way it should, and it settles the sway that wears on you over a long haul. It carries a Class IV rating of 1,200 pounds of tongue weight and 12,000 pounds gross trailer weight, so it has real muscle for a loaded camper or a heavy bumper-pull that outweighs what your pickup or SUV can carry on its own. The chain-mount design is the part you'll thank it for. The load bars hook up and fine-tune fast, so getting the ride dialed in is quick instead of a fight in the driveway.

Key Highlights

  • Handles 6,000 to 12,000 lbs gross trailer weight, real muscle for a loaded camper or heavy bumper-pull.
  • Chain-style design lets you hook up and fine-tune the load bars fast, no fighting it in the driveway.
  • Moves tongue weight your truck or SUV can't carry alone across both sets of axles for stability and control.
  • Levels out the nose-up, tail-down squat so the whole rig sits flat down the road.
  • Clamp-on brackets fit trailer frames 4" to 7" tall and 1.5" to 2" wide.
  • Sway-bar mount tabs on the head let you add friction sway arm bar kits for extra control (sold separately).
  • 2-5/16" ball comes preinstalled and torqued to spec, ready to hook up.
  • 8.5" deep-drop shank fits a 2" receiver and gives the reach to sit level under taller trucks.

What It Fits

  • 8.5" deep-drop shank for a 2" receiver: gives you the reach to sit level under today's taller trucks.
  • Works with 2-5/16" couplers: hooks up to both top-mount and bottom-mount couplers.

Specs and Features

  • Rated 6,000 to 12,000 lbs gross trailer weight: sized for real loads, from a mid-size camper up to a heavy bumper-pull.
  • Chain-style weight distribution: spreads the load across the truck and trailer axles for stability and control, and the chain hookup makes dialing in the load bars easier.
  • Takes the load off the tail: when the tongue weight is more than your pickup or SUV can carry on its own, it moves that weight across both sets of axles so the rig stays stable and in your control.
  • Levels the ride: brings the truck and trailer back to sitting flat instead of nose-up and tail-down.
  • Fits common trailer frames: clamp-on brackets grab frames 4" to 7" tall and 1.5" to 2" wide.
  • Ready for extra sway control: the hitch head has sway-bar mount tabs, so you can add friction sway arm bar kits later (sold separately).
  • 2-5/16" ball preinstalled: comes torqued to spec, so it's ready to hook up out of the box.
  • Built to take a beating: high-strength steel head with a welded hitch bar.
  • Black powder-coat finish: shrugs off rust and road grime season after season.
  • Room to upgrade: made in China, and designed to work with the Shocker Air Ride Equalizer and friction sway arm bar kits (both sold separately).

Do You Actually Need Weight Distribution?

If the back of your truck sags when you hook up and the steering feels light, too much weight is sitting on the rear axle. A weight distribution hitch shifts that tongue weight forward onto the truck's front axle, so the ride comes back level and the steering firms up. As a rule of thumb, you want one once the tongue weight climbs past about 10% of the truck's payload rating.
