Simple Pivot Design
Uses a rocker arm pivot design which produces a front and back motion, much different than other cushion hitches on the market.
Fits Pickup Trucks Only
This is designed for pulling with a Pickup Truck - it will not work with SUV/CUV's with coil over springs in the rear.
Smoother Safer Towing
Add bolt on air ride towing to your pickup & camper with a equalizer, weight-distribution hitch in minutes. (easily bolt your existing weight-distribution head to air equalizer).
Adjustable & Heavy-Duty
12,000 lbs towing & 1,200 lbs tongue weight capacity plus 7 or 9" of Adjustment (5" of rise to 2" drop or choose 5" rise to 4" drop). Fine tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads.
Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
You can set up a weight-distribution hitch perfectly and still feel the trailer chucking at you over concrete seams and hard stops. WD spring bars level the load, but they pass every jolt straight through to the cab and back into the trailer. This kit fixes the part the spring bars can't. The Air Equalizer airbag bolts to your existing or new WD hitch head and cushions that road shock, so the ride settles down for the truck, the trailer, and everything packed inside. It pairs with the Shocker XR Extended Range receiver base and carries 12,000 lbs GTW with 1,200 lbs of tongue weight, real breathing room when a travel trailer rides heavy up front behind a half-ton or 3/4-ton pickup. It fits most major WD brands. Pickup trucks only, not for SUVs or CUVs with coil-over rear springs.

What's in the Kit, and What Each Piece Does
Air Equalizer Airbag
The retrofit airbag that bolts onto the head of your weight-distribution hitch, existing or new. It soaks up the chucking and road shock that WD spring bars pass straight through.
Shocker XR Extended Range Hitch
The receiver-side base that ties the Air Equalizer to your truck's receiver. 8 adjustment holes give you 7-8 inches of rise and drop to sit the trailer level, and it ships with the receiver shank size you select.
WD Hitch NOT Included
Bring your own weight-distribution hitch head, or buy one separately. The Air Equalizer is the airbag. The WD hitch is the spring-bar-and-head system that mounts on top of it.
Two Hitch Pins With Clips
Both D-handle pins ship in the kit, one for the receiver shank and one for the WD-equalizer interface, so nothing's missing on install day.
Fits Most WD Hitches on the Road Today
The Air Equalizer head bolts to any weight-distribution hitch head with a 2-1/2-inch center-on-center or 3-3/4-inch center-on-center bolt pattern, which covers most of what's out there. Verified compatible:
- Fastway E2 (round bar and trunnion)
- Equal-i-zer (the brand)
- Reese (round bar and trunnion)
- Husky and Pro Series
- Torklift and Blue Ox round-bar systems
- Camco Eaz Lift
- Curt round-bar and Curt TruTrack/trunnion
- Shocker XR-compatible WD hitches
- NOT compatible with Andersen chain-style or B&W Continuum WD systems
How the Air Equalizer Stacks Up Against Other Shocker Air Products
The weight-distribution family solves a different problem than the bumper-pull air hitches. Here's how to tell which one you need:
Air Equalizer for WD (this product)
For travel trailers that need weight distribution to level a squatting truck. It pairs an airbag with a WD spring-bar system, the right call when tongue weight is dragging the back end down.
XR Extended Range Hitch (standalone)
The Shocker XR receiver-side air hitch sold without the Air Equalizer. Reach for it when you don't need weight distribution and just want air ride on the receiver.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (steel)
The standard 14K bumper-pull air hitch with no weight-distribution setup. Good for lighter trailers at a lower price.
Light Duty 12K Tongue Mount
Air ride that mounts on the trailer A-frame instead of the truck. Handy when you swap the trailer between multiple trucks. It doesn't work with WD.
Read This First: Pickup Trucks Only
The Air Equalizer is built for pickup trucks running leaf-spring or hybrid rear suspensions (F-150, F-250, F-350, Silverado, Sierra, Ram 1500/2500/3500, Tundra, Titan, Colorado, Canyon, Tacoma, Frontier, Ridgeline). It will NOT work on SUVs, CUVs, or vans with coil-over rear springs. Those rear ends load a WD system differently, and this geometry is engineered around how a pickup's leaf springs behave. If you tow with an SUV or CUV, look at the Shocker Cushion Ball Mount line instead.
Dialing In the Air Pressure
The Air Equalizer works with your WD spring bars, not around them. The airbag cushions, the spring bars distribute. Hook up the trailer and engage your WD bars first. Then add air until the truck-side bump cushions are NOT compressed. If the trailer-side bump cushions start to compress, you've got too much air in it. Back it off until both sets of cushions sit free. Together the 4 bump cushions and the air bag soak up the chucking, tugs, and jerks that WD bars alone send right into the cab. Owners report a much smoother ride on concrete highways and rough sealed roads.
