Air ride towing technology with a heavy duty built in air ride system to cushion the ride & absorb the road shock for on or off the road towing. The air ride system sits under receiver tube.
Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
You feel it every time the trailer chucks against the truck: the jerk over a frost heave, the tug at every stop, the pounding that works on your welds, your driveline, and whatever you've got loaded in back. The Original Shocker Air Hitch takes that hit for you. It's the red-powder-coat workhorse that started the air-ride hitch category, and it pulls the road shock out of the ride before it ever reaches your truck or trailer. Rated at 14,000 lbs GTW, it hauls the heaviest trailer you'll put behind an F-150-class half-ton (or any truck running a class III/IV, 2-inch receiver), from livestock to boats to travel trailers to contractor cargo. Built on Shocker's standard 8-hole chassis, the air pressure adjusts to your load so a stock-suspension pickup tows level and smooth on the highway and the gravel road alike.
Key Highlights
- Hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW on the original 8-hole chassis, the heaviest trailer you'll put behind an F-150-class half-ton
- Slides into any 2-inch receiver on an F-150-class half-ton (and class III/IV receivers), so it bolts onto the truck you already own
- Add or bleed air to match the load, so it tows at the right ride height whether the trailer is empty or maxed out
- Rocker-arm pivot does the work with a single moving part, no slides, rollers, or parallel linkages to wear out
- 1/2" to 4-1/2" of drop lets you set the coupler height so the trailer tows dead level
- Iconic safety-red, impact-resistant powder coat that shrugs off chips and rust year after year
- Works with 20+ Shocker ball-mount attachments that swap in seconds, so one hitch covers every trailer in the yard
- Backed by our 60-day satisfaction guarantee, in stock and shipping direct from Canada

How Shocker Air Ride Works
Built-In Air Spring
A heavy-duty air bag sits under the receiver tube and soaks up the jerk, tug, and impact of the road before any of it reaches your truck or trailer. There's no hard steel-to-steel connection passing the shock straight through.
Adjustable for Any Load
Air up for a heavy load, bleed some off for a light one. Set the pressure once and the hitch sits at the right ride height every time you hook up, no guesswork.
Rocker-Arm Pivot
Shocker's signature down-and-back motion runs on a single pivot, with no slides, rollers, parallel linkages, or stacked airbags. Fewer parts moving means fewer parts to wear out, so it keeps working season after season.
Dual Bump Cushions
When you catch a nasty pothole or a hard stop the airbag can't fully swallow, a pair of backup rubber cushions take the extreme jolt. That's a built-in safety margin for the worst hits the road throws at you.
Who Buys the Original 14K
Built for stock-suspension full-size trucks pulling mid-weight bumper-pull loads on real-world roads.
- Livestock and stock-trailer haulers pounding down gravel and section roads
- Boat owners bouncing over rough launch ramps and slab-concrete highways
- Travel-trailer and toy-hauler owners who want a calmer ride up front
- Contractors towing cargo, equipment, and enclosed work trailers
- RV motorhome owners with a 2-inch receiver under the bumper
- Anyone on an F-150-class half-ton (or class III/IV receiver) who wants the original red workhorse
Sway Control: Two Ways to Set It Up
The Original ships with or without sway-control tabs, depending on the ball-mount attachment you pick:
Standard Ball Mount (No Sway Tabs)
Right for boats, livestock trailers, equipment haulers, and any load that doesn't need friction sway bars. The pivoting air-ride design already settles sway on its own.
Ball Mount With Welded Sway Tabs
Adds welded tabs for a friction sway-bar kit (sold separately). The pick for travel trailers and tall campers that get pushed around by crosswinds and passing semis.
Flippable Drop / Rise Geometry
This Shocker Air Hitch & Cushion Drawbar Mount ships set up for 1/2" to 4-1/2" of drop. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune the coupler height on top of that. A low travel trailer behind a lifted truck, or a tall camper behind a stock pickup, the geometry works either way so your trailer rides level.
Built to Last
Heavy-wall steel takes the load, and Shocker's impact-resistant safety-red powder coat keeps rust and chips off it for the long haul. The air bag is the same multi-ply rubber that rides under commercial truck suspensions, and if it ever wears out you can swap it in minutes in your own driveway. It's in stock and ships direct from Canada, no border wait, and it's backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
