A heavy-duty air bag sits under the receiver tube and soaks up the jerking, tugging, and impact before any of it reaches your truck or trailer. Nothing bolts solid, so nothing passes the shock straight through.

This Shocker Air Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/ 2-5/16" Ball ships set up as a 4-1/2" to 8-1/2" Drop. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into a rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height in between.
