I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Smoother Safer Towing

Air ride towing technology with a heavy duty built in air spring to cushion the ride & absorb the road shock. Cushions the bumps, bangs, jerks and tugs experienced when towing with a pintle.

Built in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock, creates smooth ride & reduces tendency to trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions also offer additional HD performance.

Improves Safety

By giving you improved control of your tow vehicle and trailer. The air receiver hitch system allows for better control of your pickup and the trailer it is towing.

Provide Comfort

With a smoother ride! Travel a lot on concrete highways? No more jarring every time you cross a section divider. Your Shocker air hitch absorbs the thumps and bumps.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

You feel every frost heave, expansion joint, and hard stop straight through a rigid drawbar. The trailer chucks the truck, the truck jerks the trailer back, and your cargo takes the beating in between. The Original Shocker Air Hitch puts a real air spring between the two, so those hits get soaked up instead of passed down the line. This Shocker Air Hitch and Channel Style Pintle Hook carries 14,000 lbs gross trailer weight, enough for the heaviest trailer you'll hang off an F-150-class half-ton (and class III/IV receivers), and it drops into any 2-inch receiver on Shocker's proven 8-hole chassis. It's the red-powder-coat workhorse that started air-ride towing, built for stock-suspension full-size pickups hauling livestock, boats, travel trailers, and work cargo on smooth highway and washboard gravel alike. In stock and shipping direct from Canada, no border wait.

How the Air Ride Takes the Hit

Built-In Air Spring

A heavy-duty air bag sits under the receiver tube and catches every jerk, tug, and impact before it can reach your truck or your trailer. With nothing rigid tying the two together, there's nothing there to pass the shock along.

Adjustable for Any Load

Air up for a loaded stock trailer, bleed some off for an empty utility trailer. Set the pressure so the hitch rides at the right height every single time you hook up, no guesswork.

Rocker-Arm Pivot

Shocker's signature down-and-back motion runs on one single pivot. No slides, no rollers, no parallel linkages, no stacked airbags. Fewer parts moving means fewer parts to wear out, so it keeps working season after season.

Dual Bump Cushions

When a pothole or a panic stop throws more at the hitch than the air bag alone can absorb, two rubber bump cushions step in to catch the extreme jolt. That's your built-in backup on the hardest hits.

Who the Original 14K Is For

Built for stock-suspension full-size trucks pulling mid-weight bumper-pull loads over real-world roads.

  • Livestock haulers grinding out gravel and section roads with a full stock trailer
  • Boat owners bouncing over rough launch ramps and slab-joint concrete highways
  • Travel-trailer and toy-hauler owners who want a calmer ride up in the cab
  • Contractors dragging cargo, equipment, or an enclosed work trailer to the job
  • RV motorhome owners with a 2-inch receiver under the back bumper
  • Anyone on an F-150-class half-ton truck (and class III/IV receivers) who wants the original red-finish workhorse

Two Ways to Handle Sway

The Original line comes with or without sway-control tabs, depending on which ball-mount attachment you pair with it:

Option 1

Standard Ball Mount (No Sway Tabs)

The right pick for boats, livestock trailers, equipment haulers, and any load that doesn't call for friction sway bars. The pivoting air-ride motion already tames a lot of the sway on its own.

Option 2

Ball Mount With Welded Sway Tabs

Adds welded tabs so you can bolt on a friction sway-bar kit (sold separately). Go this way for travel trailers and tall campers that get shoved around by crosswinds and passing semis.

Flip It for Drop or Rise

This Shocker Air Hitch and Channel Style Pintle Hook ships set up for 3″ Drop to 7″ Drop. Most Shocker ball mounts flip right over, so you can turn that drop into a rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height. A low travel trailer behind a lifted truck or a tall camper behind a stock pickup, the geometry bends to match so both ends sit level.

Built to Last

This one is heavy-wall steel under Shocker's impact-resistant safety-red powder coat, in stock and shipping from Canada. The air bag is the same multi-ply rubber that carries loaded rigs on commercial truck air suspensions, and if it ever wears out you can swap it in the field in minutes. It's covered by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
