I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Just add air depending on the weight of your trailer and it's contents.

Smoother Safer Towing

Air ride towing technology with a heavy duty built in air spring to cushion the ride & absorb the road shock. Add instant air ride to your pickup & trailer.

Improves Safety

By giving you improved control of your tow vehicle and trailer. The air ride system receiver hitch system allows for better control of your pickup and your trailer.

2 Hole Receiver Shank

Designed for 2-1/2" receiver hitch tubes with Two hitch pin holes for length adjustability

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Every frost heave, rough patch of gravel, and hard stop sends a jolt straight up the drawbar into your truck, your trailer, and whatever you're hauling. A solid steel ball mount has nothing to soften that hit, so the ride chucks and welds work loose over the miles. The Original Shocker Air Hitch is the red-finish 14K workhorse that started air-ride towing, and it stops that shock at the source. It hangs an air spring between truck and trailer to soak up the jerks and tugs before they reach you. Sized for F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks with a 2-1/2-inch receiver (class V), it pulls up to 14,000 lbs on Shocker's standard 8-hole chassis, towing livestock, boats, travel trailers, and contractor cargo down highways and gravel roads alike.

Key Highlights

  • Hauls up to 14,000 lbs and carries 1,400 lbs of tongue weight, enough for the heaviest trailer you'll put behind a three-quarter-ton, on the original 8-hole chassis
  • Drops into the 2-1/2-inch receiver on F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V)
  • Add or bleed air to match any trailer, so a light load and a fully loaded one both ride level
  • A simple rocker-arm pivot does the work, with no slides, rollers, or parallel linkages to wear out
  • 1/2" to 4-1/2" drop geometry sets your coupler height so the trailer tows level
  • Wears Shocker's iconic safety-red powder coat that shrugs off chips and road abuse
  • Works with 20+ Shocker ball-mount attachments that swap out in seconds
  • Backed by our 60-day satisfaction guarantee, in stock in Canada with no border wait

How Shocker Air Ride Works

Built-In Air Spring

A heavy-duty air bag sits under the receiver tube and takes the jerks, tugs, and hard hits before they ever reach your truck or trailer. There's no solid steel connection passing the shock along, so it stops here instead of traveling into the cab.

Adjustable for Any Load

Pump in air when you're loaded heavy, let some out when you're running light. Set the pressure once and the hitch sits at the right ride height every time you hook up.

Rocker-Arm Pivot

Shocker's signature down-and-back motion runs on a single pivot, with no slides, rollers, parallel linkages, or stacked airbags. Fewer parts moving means fewer parts to wear out, so it keeps working for the long haul.

Dual Bump Cushions

When a pothole or panic stop throws more at the hitch than the air bag can swallow, two rubber cushions catch the extreme jolts. It's a built-in backstop for the worst hits.

Who Buys the Original 14K

Built for stock-suspension full-size trucks pulling mid-weight bumper-pull loads out on real gravel and highway.

  • Livestock and stock-trailer haulers pounding gravel and section roads
  • Boat owners bouncing over rough launch ramps and slab highways
  • Travel-trailer and toy-hauler owners who want a calmer cab ride
  • Contractors towing cargo, equipment, or enclosed work trailers
  • RV motorhome owners with a 2-1/2-inch receiver under the bumper
  • F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton owners (class V) who want the original red-finish workhorse

Sway Control: Two Configurations

The Original line comes with or without sway tabs, depending on which ball-mount attachment you pick:

Option 1

Standard Ball Mount (No Sway Tabs)

The pick for boats, livestock trailers, equipment haulers, and anything that doesn't need friction sway bars. The pivoting air-ride motion already tames a lot of sway on its own.

Option 2

Ball Mount With Welded Sway Tabs

Adds welded tabs so you can bolt on a friction sway-bar kit (sold separately). Go this way for travel trailers and tall campers that catch crosswind and start to wander.

Level Any Trailer: Flip Drop to Rise

A coupler that rides too high or too low leaves the trailer nose-up or nose-down, which chews tires and pushes the load around behind you. This Shocker Air Hitch & Chrome Combo Ball Mount ships in a 1/2" to 4-1/2" Drop setup, and like most Shocker ball mounts it flips over to turn that drop into rise. Eight adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height in between. Low travel trailer behind a lifted truck or tall camper behind a stock pickup, the geometry dials in level.

Built to Last

This hitch lives outside in road salt, gravel, and weather, so it's built from heavy-wall steel and finished in Shocker's impact-resistant safety-red powder coat that fights off chips and rust. The air bag is the same multi-ply rubber that commercial trucks run in their air suspensions, and if it ever wears you can swap it in minutes. It's in stock and ships direct from Canada with no border wait, backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
