Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
You feel it every time the trailer chucks against a frost heave or you grab the brakes for a hard stop: that jerk snaps through the ball, into the truck, and back through everything you're hauling. A rigid drawbar can't soak up any of it, so your driveline, your trailer welds, your cargo, and your spine all take the hit. The Original Shocker Air Hitch puts an adjustable air spring between truck and trailer to swallow that shock before it reaches you. This build carries a 2-5/16" ball and welded sway-bar tabs, hauls up to 14,000 lbs (GTW) with 1,400 lbs of tongue weight, and slides into the 2-1/2-inch receiver on F-250 or RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers). It rides on Shocker's proven 8-hole chassis in the safety-red finish that started the air-ride hitch category, ready for livestock, boats, travel trailers, and contractor loads on highway and gravel alike.
Key Highlights
- Hauls up to 14,000 lbs (GTW) and carries 1,400 lbs of tongue weight, enough for the heaviest trailer you'll put behind a three-quarter-ton, on the original 8-hole chassis
- Drops straight into the 2-1/2-inch receiver on F-250 or RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers), no truck mods
- Add or release air to match any load, so the hitch sits level and rides right whether the trailer is empty or maxed out
- Rocker-arm pivot does the work on a single moving joint, with no slides, rollers, or parallel linkages to wear out
- 2" rise to 2" drop geometry gets the trailer sitting flat and level behind you
- Wears Shocker's iconic safety-red powder coat that shrugs off rock chips and road abuse
- Works with 20+ Shocker ball-mount attachments, so you can swap ends in seconds as your towing changes
- Backed by our 60-day satisfaction guarantee

How the Air Ride Soaks Up the Hit
Built-In Air Spring
A heavy-duty air bag sits under the receiver tube and catches the jerks, tugs, and hard hits before they ever reach your truck or trailer. There's no rigid metal-on-metal connection passing shock straight through.
Set It for the Load You're Pulling
Air up for a heavy trailer, bleed some off for a light one. Set the pressure once and the hitch sits at the right ride height every time you hook up.
Rocker-Arm Pivot
Shocker's signature down-and-back motion runs on a single pivot, with no slides, rollers, parallel linkages, or stacked airbags. Fewer moving parts means less to wear out and a longer service life.
Dual Bump Cushions
Two backup rubber cushions catch the extreme jolts the air bag can't fully swallow, so there's a built-in safety margin when a hit is big.
Who Reaches for the Original 14K
Built for stock-suspension full-size trucks pulling mid-weight bumper-pull loads over real-world roads, gravel and pavement both.
- Livestock and stock-trailer haulers pounding gravel and section roads
- Boat owners on rough launch ramps and slab-concrete highways
- Travel-trailer and toy-hauler owners who want a calmer ride up front
- Contractors pulling cargo, equipment, and enclosed work trailers
- RV motorhome owners with a 2-1/2-inch receiver under the bumper
- F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton owners (class V receivers) who want the original red workhorse
Sway Control: Two Ways to Set It Up
The Original line comes with or without sway-control tabs, depending on the ball mount you pair with it:
Standard Ball Mount (No Sway Tabs)
A good fit for boats, livestock trailers, equipment haulers, and any load that doesn't need friction sway bars. The pivoting air-ride design already cuts down on sway tendency on its own.
Ball Mount With Welded Sway Tabs
Adds welded tabs to bolt on a friction sway-bar kit (sold separately). Worth it for travel trailers and tall-profile campers that catch crosswind and start to wander.
Flip It for Drop or Rise
This build ships set up for 2" rise to 2" drop. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn drop into rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height from there. Low travel trailer behind a lifted truck or tall camper behind a stock pickup, the geometry adapts to get the trailer sitting level.
Built to Take a Beating
Heavy-wall steel under an impact-resistant safety-red powder coat, in stock and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait. The air bag is the same multi-ply rubber that rides under commercial truck air suspensions, and if it ever wears out you can swap it in the field in minutes. Backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
