Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
You feel every frost heave, pothole, and hard stop straight through a rigid steel drawbar. The trailer chucks against the truck at stop lights, the load rocks around back there, and your neck and lower back pay for it after a long day. The Original Shocker Air Hitch puts a real air spring between your truck and trailer so those hits get soaked up before they ever reach the cab. This Shocker Air Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs hauls up to 14,000 lbs (the heaviest trailer you'll put behind an F-150-class half-ton, and it fits class III/IV receivers too) on Shocker's proven 8-hole chassis. It drops into a 2-inch receiver on a stock-suspension pickup and smooths out livestock, boats, travel trailers, and contractor cargo whether you're running the highway or a gravel section road. It's the red-finish workhorse that started the whole air-ride hitch category.
Key Highlights

- Add or bleed air to match any load, so light and heavy trailers both ride level and smooth

How the Air Ride Smooths Your Tow
Air Bag Under the Tube
A heavy-duty air bag sits under the receiver tube and soaks up the jerk, tug, and hard hits before they reach your truck or trailer. There's no rigid steel-on-steel connection dumping road shock straight into the cab.
Set It for the Load
Pump in more air for a heavy trailer, bleed some off for a light one. Getting the pressure right sets the hitch at proper ride height every time you hook up, so you're never dragging tail or riding nose-high.
One Simple Pivot
Shocker's down-and-back motion rides on a single pivot instead of slides, rollers, parallel linkages, or stacked airbags. Fewer moving parts means less to wear out and a longer service life.
Backup Rubber Cushions
When you slam a rough railroad crossing or a deep washout, backup rubber cushions catch the extreme jolts the air bag can't fully swallow. It's a built-in safety margin for the worst hits.
Who the Original 14K Is Built For
Made for stock-suspension full-size trucks pulling mid-weight bumper-pull loads on real, rough roads.
- Livestock haulers who pound gravel and washboard section roads
- Boat owners bouncing over rough launch ramps and slab-concrete highways
- Travel-trailer and toy-hauler owners who want a calmer cab
- Contractors pulling loaded cargo, equipment, or enclosed work trailers
- Motorhome owners with a 2-inch receiver under the bumper
- Anyone on an F-150-class half-ton truck (and class III/IV receivers) who wants the original red-finish workhorse
Two Ways to Handle Sway
The Original line comes with or without sway-control tabs depending on the ball-mount attachment you pick:
Plain Ball Mount, No Sway Tabs
Right for boats, livestock trailers, equipment haulers, and any load that doesn't need friction sway bars. The pivoting air-ride design already calms sway on its own, so most heavy, low loads tow fine without tabs.
Ball Mount With Welded Sway Tabs
Adds welded tabs so you can bolt on a friction sway-bar kit (sold separately). This is the one for travel trailers and tall-profile campers that get shoved around by crosswind and passing semis.
Flip It for Drop or Rise
A trailer that rides nose-high or tail-low wears tires, sways more, and stops worse. This Shocker Air Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs ships in a 2" Rise to 2" Drop setup, and like most Shocker ball mounts it flips over to turn that drop into rise. Use the 8 adjustment holes to fine-tune coupler height on top of that. Low travel trailer behind a lifted truck or tall camper behind a stock pickup, the geometry adapts so you can get level.
Built to Take a Beating
Hitches live outside in road salt, grit, and weather. This one is heavy-wall steel under Shocker's impact-resistant safety-red powder coat, and it's in stock and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait. The air bag is the same multi-ply rubber used in commercial truck air suspensions, and you can swap it in the field in minutes when the day comes. Backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
