Simple rocker-arm pivot design delivers
smooth front-to-back movement, with no parallel linkages, shock absorbers, or torsion arms.
Air pressure is fully adjustable
to fine-tune ride height and load control — for heavy loads, just add air.
Built-in air-ride system directs tow
resistance through an air spring for a smoother, safer tow — far less wear on your truck driveline and your camper's frame and welds.
Installs in minutes
replaces your factory 5th-wheel pin box with a gooseneck pin box using the existing bolt holes, then the air hitch and coupler drop into the pin box.
Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
A 5th wheel kingpin punches every frost heave and hard stop straight forward and back through the connection, so the cab jerks, the cabinets rattle, and the dishes take a beating. This kit ends that. It swaps your factory Lippert Turning Point pin box for a heavy-duty gooseneck pin box, adds the Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch so an air bag soaks up the chucking before it reaches you, and finishes with a 3-inch forward-offset dual-latching Shift Lock coupler that drops onto any 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball. It bolts on with your existing hardware, handles 24,000 lbs GTW and 6,000 lbs of tongue weight, and clears the slider out of your truck bed for good. Patents 11,370,257 B1 and D898,628.

What This Kit Swaps Out
Off Comes the Factory Pin Box
Your camper's factory 5th-wheel kingpin pin box comes off and the Shocker gooseneck pin box takes its place. It bolts in through your existing holes, so there is no welding and no drilling.
Air Ride Right at the Connection
The Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch slides into the new pin box. Its built-in air bag catches the chucking, jerking, and banging that a kingpin normally sends straight into your cab.
Now You Tow Gooseneck
The included dual-latching Shift Lock coupler drops onto any 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball in your bed and latches tight the moment it seats onto the ball.
Your Bed Comes Back
No more giant slider hitch eating two-thirds of the bed. The gooseneck ball sits flush and the rest of your bed stays open and usable.
Match It to Your Factory Pin Box
This line comes in three versions, each built for a different factory pin box. Read the label on your current pin box before you order. The kit on this page fits:
- Lippert Turning Point (this kit)
- Lippert 1716, 1116, 0115 and FabEx 500-560 (separate variant available)
- Lippert 1621, 0719, Rhino Box (separate variant available)
- Every version uses the same Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch, Shift Lock coupler, and 24,000 lbs rating
- Your existing pin box bolts are reused for the install
How This Kit Compares to the Other Paths
There are a few ways to upgrade a 5th-wheel camper. This one leaves nothing out:
Full Conversion Kit (this product)
Gooseneck pin box, Shocker air hitch, and dual-latching Shift Lock coupler together. The complete bolt-on jump to gooseneck towing, and the right pick if you don't already own any of these parts.
Hitch Only (replacement)
Just the air hitch and Shift Lock coupler. Pick this if you already run a Shocker gooseneck pin box and only need to replace the upper assembly.
Pin Box Only
Just the gooseneck pin box housing. The lowest-cost way in. Buy it now and add the air hitch and coupler later as a Phase 2 upgrade.
Air Ride Kingpin Box
Keeps the 5th-wheel kingpin and just adds air-ride dampening. Go this route if you'd rather not convert to gooseneck and want to keep your existing 5th-wheel hitch in the bed.
Why Air Ride Matters Most on a 5th Wheel
A 5th wheel doesn't rock side to side. It chucks forward and back through the kingpin, and that is the worst jerk to feel inside the camper or up in the cab. The Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch is the only air ride hitch built to work exclusively in that forward-and-back direction. The built-in air bag catches the chucking before it reaches your cabinets, slide-outs, dishes, or your spine. Owners report fuel savings of 1-2 mpg, less wear on the truck driveline, and a ride that finally settles down.
Important: Safety Chains Sold Separately
Gooseneck towing legally requires safety chains, and the Shocker gooseneck safety chain kit is not in the box. Order it alongside the kit. Your existing pin box bolts are reused, so you need no new mounting hardware. A 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball has to already be installed in the truck bed (not included). Want a lock? The Shocker Shift Lock Gooseneck Coupler Lock with puck lock (SH-9000-315) is available separately.
