Simple rocker-arm pivot design delivers

smooth front-to-back movement, with no parallel linkages, shock absorbers, or torsion arms.

Air pressure is fully adjustable

to fine-tune ride height and load control — for heavy loads, just add air.

Fits the common factory 5th-wheel

pin boxes (Lippert 1716/1116 and Rhino-style frames), and 0115 and FabEx 500, 503, 520, 530, and 560 pin boxes.

Built-in air-ride system directs tow

resistance through an air spring for a smoother, safer tow — far less wear on your truck driveline and your camper's frame and welds.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

A 5th-wheel kingpin punishes you with a forward-and-back chuck. Every frost heave and hard stop jerks the camper, rattles the cabinets, and beats on your truck and your spine, while that slider hitch swallows most of your bed. The Shocker Quick Air 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Conversion Kit fixes both in one bolt-on job. It swaps your factory kingpin pin box for a heavy-duty gooseneck pin box that fits Lippert 1716, 1116, and 0115 and FabEx 500, 503, 520, 530, and 560, drops in the Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch so the air bag soaks up the chucking before it reaches you, and finishes with a 3-inch forward-offset dual-latching Shift Lock coupler that latches onto a 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball. Rated for 24,000 lbs GTW and 6,000 lbs of tongue weight, so there's real breathing room when the load rides heavy up front. Patents 11,370,257 B1 & D898,628.

Key Highlights

  • Everything to go from kingpin to gooseneck in one box: gooseneck pin box, air hitch, and dual-latching Shift Lock coupler
  • Pulls up to 24,000 lbs GTW with 6,000 lbs of tongue weight, real room when the load rides heavy up front
  • Built-in air ride soaks up the forward-and-back chucking that only a 5th-wheel throws at you
  • Dual-latching Shift Lock coupler grabs any 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball and holds it tight
  • Gets your truck bed back by ditching the bulky in-bed slider hitch
  • Bolts on with your factory pin box bolts, so it's in and out in minutes
  • Dial the air pressure up when loaded and down when empty, so the ride matches the camper
  • Patented Shift Lock design (Patents 11,370,257 B1 & D898,628)

What This Kit Converts

Swaps Out Your Factory Pin Box

Your camper's factory 5th-wheel kingpin pin box comes off, and the Shocker gooseneck pin box bolts right into the same holes. No welding, no drilling, no cutting.

Puts Air Ride Right at the Connection

The Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch slides into the new pin box, and its built-in air bag soaks up the chucking, jerking, and banging that a 5th-wheel kingpin sends straight into your cab.

Turns You Into a Gooseneck Rig

The included dual-latching Shift Lock coupler drops onto any 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball in your truck bed and locks itself the moment it seats.

Gives You Your Bed Back

No more giant 5th-wheel slider hitch hogging two-thirds of your bed. The gooseneck ball sits flush and the rest of the bed stays open for hauling.

Fits These OEM Pin Box Families

This line comes in three versions, each matched to a different factory pin box. Find the label on your existing pin box before you order. The kit you're looking at fits:

  • Lippert 1716, 1116, 0115 and FabEx 500, 503, 520, 530, 560 (this kit)
  • Lippert 1621, 0719, Rhino Box (separate version available)
  • Lippert Turning Point (separate version available)
  • Every version uses the same Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch, Shift Lock coupler, and 24,000 lbs rating
  • Your existing pin box bolts do the mounting, so nothing extra to buy

Full Kit vs. Other Camper Conversion Paths

There's more than one way to upgrade a 5th-wheel camper. This one leaves nothing out:

Option 1

Full Conversion Kit (this product)

Gooseneck pin box, Shocker air hitch, and dual-latching Shift Lock coupler together. The whole bolt-on conversion to gooseneck towing, and the one to grab if you don't already own any of these parts.

Option 2

Hitch Only (replacement)

Just the air hitch and Shift Lock coupler. Pick this if you already run a Shocker gooseneck pin box and only need to replace the upper assembly.

Option 3

Pin Box Only

Just the gooseneck pin box housing. The lowest-cost way in. Start here now and add the air hitch and coupler later when you're ready.

Option 4

Air Ride Kingpin Box

Keeps the 5th-wheel kingpin but adds air-ride dampening. Pick this if you'd rather not go gooseneck and want to keep your existing 5th-wheel hitch in the truck bed.

Why Air Ride Matters Most on a 5th Wheel

A 5th-wheel sends road shock through the kingpin as a forward-and-back chuck, and that's the ugliest jerk you can feel, whether you're riding in the camper or up in the cab. The Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch is the only air ride hitch built to work exclusively in that forward-and-back direction. Its built-in air bag catches the chucking before it ever reaches the cabinets, the slide-outs, the dishes, or your spine. Owners report fuel savings of 1-2 mpg, less wear on the truck driveline, and a ride that finally settles down.

Read This First: Safety Chains Sold Separately

The law requires safety chains for gooseneck towing, so the Shocker gooseneck safety chain kit is a must and it ships separately. Your existing pin box bolts get reused, so there's no new mounting hardware to source. You'll also need a 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball already installed in the truck bed (not included). Want to lock it down? The Shocker Shift Lock Gooseneck Coupler Lock with puck lock (SH-9000-315) is available separately.
