It's rated for 24,000 lbs behind the truck and 6,000 lbs on the tongue, so there's real breathing room when the camper rides heavy up front. Your bed comes back, and the harsh ride goes with the old pin box.

What This Kit Converts
Your Factory Pin Box Comes Off
The stock 5th-wheel kingpin pin box unbolts, and the Shocker gooseneck pin box bolts right back into the same holes. No welding, no drilling, no cutting.
Air Ride Right at the Connection
The Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch slides into the new pin box. Its built-in air bag catches the chucking, jerking, and banging that a kingpin connection normally sends straight into the cab.
Hooks to a Gooseneck Ball
The included Demco EZ Latch coupler drops onto any 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball in your bed and latches itself when you lower onto it. No crawling under to lock it by hand.

Air Ride Kingpin Box
Keeps the 5th-wheel kingpin but adds air-ride dampening. Pick this if you'd rather not convert to gooseneck and want to keep your existing 5th-wheel hitch in the bed.
Why Air Ride Matters Most on a 5th Wheel
A 5th wheel doesn't bounce so much as it chucks. Road shock comes through the kingpin as a forward-and-back jerk, and that's the worst kind to feel inside the camper or up in the cab. Gooseneck towing legally requires safety chains, and they don't come in the box. You'll need the Shocker SH-PBCK gooseneck chain kit, sold separately. Your existing pin box bolts get reused, so there's no new mounting hardware to buy. You also need a 2-5/16" gooseneck ball already installed in the truck bed (not included). If you want them, a DEM-17654-81 coupler lock and an SH-400GL-ISP-BLK set bolt lock are available separately.
