Why the 9 Inches Matter
On a short-bed pickup (usually a 5.5 or 6.5 ft bed), a standard gooseneck coupler rides close enough to the cab that a tight turn gets sketchy. Back into a campsite, thread a stockyard, or jackknife in a cramped driveway and the trailer nose crowds your back glass and cab corners. The 9" offset moves the coupler 9 inches farther forward than a standard gooseneck would sit, handing back the turning room that long-bed trucks get for free. You still get gooseneck stability and air-ride smoothness, and you keep the maneuverability that made you buy a short-bed in the first place.

9" Forward Extension
The forged extension arm carries the Demco EZ Latch coupler 9 inches ahead of a standard gooseneck, keeping the trailer nose off your cab through tight turns and jackknife moves.
Forward-Back Airbag
An air spring soaks up the forward-back jerk that hammers back and forth between truck bed and trailer stem, the same patented surge-air setup as the Standard 30K.

Coupler Choice: Demco EZ Latch or Shift Lock
Both couplers hold the full 30,000 lbs rating. This hitch ships with the Demco EZ Latch.
Demco EZ Latch
Drop onto the 2-5/16-inch ball and it latches itself. It grabs from one side, and you lift the latch handle to release. The common pick, and it is what ships with this hitch.
Shift Lock
The patented coupler that grips the ball from both sides, the only gooseneck coupler that does. A visual lock indicator tells you it is locked at a glance, and it carries a slightly higher 7K tongue weight rating.
Direct Stem Replacement
This is not an adapter that bolts onto your existing stem. It is a complete stem-and-coupler replacement. The round-4-inch slides into your trailer's outer tube where the factory inner stem sits now, re-pins through your existing height holes, and the air ride plus 9" extension ride above the stem. Most people have it in under an hour with no welding, drilling, or cutting.
