20,000 lbs GTW & 2,000 lbs Tongue Weight Capacity

20,000 lb rated towing capacity with heavy duty pintle ring for using with pintle hook. 2,000 lbs tongue weight rating. Tow capacity is limited by the lowest-rated component.

Heavy Duty Design

Great for heavy duty trailers, farm applications, race trailers, stackers, end dumps, equipment trailers & flat beds equipped with 3" vertical channel or 4 bolt flat plate on front of trailer tongue.

Improves Safety

By giving you improved control of your tow vehicle and trailer. The air ride 10 ton pintle ring allows for better control of your pickup and the trailer it is towing.

Simple Pivot Design

uses a rocker arm pivot design which produces a down and back motion, much different than other air ride products on the market.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Pull a light trailer with a stiff-suspension truck and you feel every frost heave and hard stop come straight up through the hitch. That jerk and chucking beats on your trailer frame, your cargo, and your truck. The Shocker Light Duty 12K Air Tongue Mount puts air ride right at the trailer connection so the shock gets soaked up before it reaches any of it. It bolts to your trailer A-frame, which means the air ride stays with the trailer and every truck that hooks up tows smoother, whether that is your rig or someone else's. Rated up to 12,000 lbs GTW with 1,200 lbs of tongue weight, it is sized right for horse trailers, cargo trailers, utility trailers, and small dump trailers under 12,000 lbs. Buy it as a bare base frame or pre-paired with a coupler.

How It Works

Air Ride Built Right In

An air bag sits between the coupler and the trailer A-frame and soaks up road shock before it can reach your trailer frame, your cargo, or your tow vehicle. Sized right for trailers under 12,000 lbs.

Dial It In for the Load

Add air when the load rides heavy up front, let some out when you are running an empty utility trailer. You set the right pressure for every trip instead of living with one harsh setting.

Rocker Arm Pivot Design

The coupler pivots down and back on a rocker arm, with no slides, rollers, or parallel linkages to wear out. Fewer moving parts means less to maintain and longer life on the road.

Keeps Your Ground Clearance

The air ride mounts above the trailer tongue, so you hold onto full ground clearance for ramps, steep driveways, and rough launch sites.

Ideal For These Smaller Trailers

The 12K rating fits most recreational and light-commercial bumper-pull trailers out there:

  • Horse trailers (1-2 horse and small 3-horse)
  • Cargo and utility trailers
  • Small enclosed haulers and snowmobile trailers
  • Light dump trailers and landscaping trailers
  • Boat trailers with A-frame tongues
  • Any A-frame bumper-pull trailer up to 12,000 lbs GTW

Two Mounting Geometries

Pick the variant that matches how your trailer A-frame is built:

Option 1

Vertical Channel Mount (SH-4000 series)

Fits a 3-1/2-inch wide vertical channel with a 2-inch center-on-center bolt pattern. Pin or bolt it on with 5/8-inch hardware (4-1/2 inches long recommended). This is the most common setup on fabricated trailer A-frames.

Option 2

Square Plate Mount, 4-Bolt (SH-4500 series)

Bolts straight to a flat plate on the trailer tongue using a 4-1/2-inch square, 4-bolt pattern. It is a simple four-bolt job, common on factory-built utility, cargo, and horse trailers.

Coupler Sold Separately or Bundled

Buy the Light Duty 12K as a bare base frame or pre-paired with a coupler. Popular pairings include the Wallace Forge auto-locking 12K coupler (2-inch ball) and Demco bolt-on couplers. One thing to know before you order: your total tow rating can only go as high as the lowest-rated part in the chain. Put a 10K coupler on it and the whole system tops out at 10K even though the mount itself handles 12K, so match your coupler to your trailer GTW. The 1-inch 1045 medium-carbon steel center pivot bolt runs stronger than the typical 5/8-inch bolts that hold a coupler on.

Why Mount the Air Ride on the Trailer?

Put the air ride on the trailer instead of the truck and every vehicle that hooks up gets the smoother tow with no extra parts. That pays off most when more than one truck pulls the same trailer: your truck through the week, a family member's on the weekend, a rental out on vacation. The Light Duty 12K is the right pick when your trailer stays under 12,000 lbs and you do not need the extra headroom of the Heavy Duty 25K. It runs roughly $100 to $300 less than the HD version and gives you the same air ride at the lower rating.
