How It Works
Air Bag Where It Counts
An air bag sits between the coupler and your trailer A-frame, catching the shock from rough pavement before it can rattle your trailer frame, your cargo, and your tow vehicle. It is sized for trailers under 12,000 lbs.
Tune It to the Load
Add or bleed air to match the ride to what you are hauling. Heavier load, more air. Running an empty utility trailer, less air. You set the right pressure every trip.
Simple Rocker Arm Pivot
The coupler swings down and back on a rocker arm, with no slides, rollers, or parallel linkages to wear out. Fewer moving parts means less to maintain and a longer life.
Keeps Your Ground Clearance
The air ride mounts above the trailer tongue, so you keep full ground clearance for steep ramps, driveways, and rough launch sites.

Two Ways It Bolts On
Pick the version that matches how your trailer A-frame is built:
Vertical Channel Mount (SH-4000 series)
Fits a 3-1/2-inch wide vertical channel with a 2-inch center-on-center bolt pattern. You lock it in with 5/8-inch pins or bolts (4-1/2 inches long is what we recommend). This is the most common setup on fabricated trailer A-frames.
Square Plate Mount, 4-Bolt (SH-4500 series)
A 4-1/2-inch square bolt pattern that bolts straight to a flat plate on the trailer tongue. Four bolts and you are done. You see this a lot on factory-built utility, cargo, and horse trailers.
Add a Coupler, or Get One Bundled
You can buy the Light Duty 12K as a bare base frame or already paired with a coupler. If you want it bundled, we like the Wallace Forge auto-locking 12K coupler (2-inch ball) or the Demco bolt-on couplers. One thing to keep in mind: your whole setup is only as strong as its weakest piece. Put a 10K coupler on it and your system tops out at 10K, not 12K, so match the coupler to your trailer GTW. The 1-inch 1045 medium-carbon steel center pivot bolt is stronger than the typical 5/8-inch bolts that hold most couplers on.

Bolt the air ride to the trailer instead of the truck and every vehicle that hooks up gets the smoother tow with no swapping. That pays off most when more than one truck pulls the same trailer, like your truck through the week, a family member's on the weekend, and a rental on vacation. The Light Duty 12K is the one to grab when your trailer stays under 12,000 lbs and you do not need the heavy-duty 25K headroom. It runs roughly $100 to $300 less than the HD version and gives you the same air ride at the lighter rating.
