Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Behind a solid steel ball mount, every frost heave, pothole, and hard stop slams straight up through your truck and back into whatever you're hauling. That chucking wears on the hitch, the trailer, and you. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K takes that hit for you, and it does it without ever asking for attention. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but swaps the airbag for sealed dual rubber bump cushions, so there's no air pressure to monitor, no compressor to own, and no maintenance to keep up with. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Clevis Pin Mount w/1-1/4" Holes hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW with 1-1/2" Rise to 5-1/2" Drop, drops into 2-1/2-inch receivers, and runs roughly 30-40% less than the air-ride version while still towing noticeably smoother than any solid ball mount.

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Sealed Rubber Cushions Do the Work
A pair of dense rubber bump stops sits between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. When the trailer tugs and bounces, the cushions squeeze and spring back, soaking up the road shock right at the hitch instead of sending it up through your truck.
The Ball Mount Pivots
The ball mount pivots on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That pivot is what lets a cushion hitch ride smoother than a solid steel mount, which has nowhere to give.
Sealed In, No Upkeep
The cushions are bonded inside the frame. No air valve, no pressure gauge, nothing to service. Bolt it in once and pull with it for the life of the truck.
Calmer Behind You
The pivoting cushion design damps the fore-aft jerks that start trailer sway, so most light and mid-weight trailers tow noticeably calmer. On heavy loads you'll still want a dedicated sway control kit, but you'll feel the difference either way.
Built For These Buyers
Reach for the Impact Cushion when you want a smoother tow but never want to think about air pressure.
- Weekend haulers who hook up a trailer a few times a year
- Anyone who doesn't want to babysit air pressure or own a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors pulling skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Buyers who want a real upgrade over a solid ball mount without overspending
- Fleet operators who want zero ongoing hitch maintenance
Cushion or Air Ride: How to Choose
Both ride better than a solid mount. The difference is in travel, tunability, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions in place of an airbag. Roughly 30-40% cheaper, zero maintenance, and a clear step up from solid steel. It gives up some suspension travel to air ride, so it's the pick for occasional or light-duty towing and for anyone who wants simple over tunable.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis, but with an adjustable airbag. You get more travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and pressure you can dial in to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare, and field-replaceable when it happens). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
If you only tow a few times a year, the last thing you want is a hitch that asks for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls smooth, and never needs servicing. There's no air pressure to check before a trip, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor riding along in the toolbox. If you came to Shocker for the reputation but don't want the air-ride routine, this is the line built exactly for you.
Fits the Whole Shocker Attachment Lineup
Because the Impact Cushion shares the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog bolts right on. That covers combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change over the years. It's finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stays visible and resists chipping, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
