I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable Length

2 hitch pin holes to adjust the length and there is plenty of room on the receiver shank to accommodate hitch mounted towing mud flaps or shocker bumper tow flaps.

Flip Around Design + 7 Adjustment Holes

The only cushion hitch that can be flipped around. The unique pivoting design of the dual bump cushions allows you to flip the entire hitch around for more drop or rise.

Adjustable Combo Ball

2" & 2-5/16" design for maximum strength. Gives you 4" of rise to 4" of drop. Premium Chrome finish.

Safety Red Premium Powder-Coat Finish

HD impact resistant safety red textured powder coated finish on hitch and black matte on ball mount.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

You feel it in your spine on a bad road. A solid ball mount passes every pothole, frost heave, and hard stop straight through the truck and into the trailer, chucking the load and wearing on both ends. The Impact Cushion 14K takes that hit for you. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but swaps the airbag for sealed dual rubber bump cushions, so there is no air pressure to monitor, no compressor to own, and nothing to maintain. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Chrome Combo Ball Mount w/2" & 2-5/16" Balls hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW, adjusts from 4" Drop to 4" Rise, drops into any 2-1/2-inch receiver, and runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version while still towing noticeably smoother than any solid ball mount.

Key Highlights

  • Sealed dual rubber cushions soak up road shock and never need servicing
  • Hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW and 1,400 lb tongue weight, the heaviest loads behind a three-quarter-ton

  • 2-1/2-inch shank drops into F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers)

  • 7-hole adjustable frame flips over for more drop or rise

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works

Two Sealed Rubber Bump Cushions

Two dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. When the trailer tugs and bounces down the road, they compress and rebound, soaking up the shock right at the hitch instead of passing it through your truck.

The Ball Mount Pivots

The ball mount pivots on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That give-and-take is what makes a cushion hitch feel smoother than a dead-solid steel mount.

Sealed and Maintenance-Free

The cushions are bonded inside the frame, so there is no air valve, no pressure gauge, and nothing to service. Bolt it in once and pull with it for the life of the truck.

Naturally Sway-Resistant

The pivoting cushion design damps the fore-aft jerks that kick off trailer sway, so most light and mid-weight trailers ride noticeably calmer. On heavy loads you still want a dedicated sway control kit.

Built For These Buyers

Pick the Impact Cushion when you want a smoother tow and would rather never think about air pressure again.

  • You tow a few times a year and want it simple
  • You do not want to babysit air pressure or buy a compressor
  • Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
  • Contractors pulling skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
  • Anyone stepping up from a solid ball mount on a budget
  • Fleets that want zero ongoing hitch maintenance

Cushion or Air Ride: How to Choose

Both ride better than a solid mount. The choice comes down to travel, tunability, and price.

Option 1

Impact Cushion 14K (this product)

Rubber cushions, roughly 30 to 40% cheaper, and zero maintenance. You get less suspension travel than air ride and a clear step up over solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, or anyone who wants simple over adjustable.

Option 2

Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)

Same chassis with an adjustable airbag instead of cushions. More travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and you can dial pressure to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare to replace, and you can do it in the field). Best for daily towers and heavy use.

Set It and Forget It

Most people who tow a few times a year do not want a hitch that asks for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls smoothly, and never needs servicing. There is no air pressure to check before a trip, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor riding in the toolbox. If you picked Shocker for the reputation but do not want the air-ride routine, this is the line built for you.

Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker

Because the Impact Cushion shares the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog bolts right on: combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change. It is finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stands out for visibility and resists chipping, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
