Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Every frost heave and hard stop that hits your trailer travels straight up a solid steel ball mount and into your truck, your spine, and your cargo. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K pulls that hammering out of the tow without asking you to babysit air pressure. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but sealed dual rubber bump cushions do the airbag's job, so there is no pressure to monitor, no compressor to own, and no maintenance to remember. It hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW, sets from 1" Rise to 6-1/2" Drop, drops into 2-1/2-inch receivers, and costs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version while still towing far smoother than any solid ball mount.

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Sealed Rubber Bump Cushions
Two dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. When the trailer tugs and bounces, they squeeze and spring back, catching the road shock right at the hitch instead of passing it up into the truck.
The Ball Mount Pivots
The ball mount pivots on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That pivot is what gives cushion hitches their smoother feel next to a dead-solid steel mount.
Sealed and Maintenance-Free
The cushions are bonded inside the frame. No air valve, no pressure gauge, nothing to service. Bolt it in once and pull with it for the life of the truck.
Naturally Sway-Resistant
The pivoting cushion design softens the fore-and-aft jerks that start trailer sway. On heavy loads you still want a dedicated sway control kit, but most light and mid-weight trailers ride noticeably calmer behind it.
Built For These Buyers
Pick the Impact Cushion when you want a smoother tow but never want to think about air pressure.
- Occasional towers who hook up a few times a year
- Owners who do not want to manage air pressure or own a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors pulling skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Anyone wanting a budget upgrade over a solid ball mount
- Fleet operators who want zero ongoing hitch maintenance
Cushion or Air Ride, How to Choose
Both ride better than a solid mount. The gap is in travel, tunability, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions instead of an airbag. Roughly 30 to 40% cheaper and zero maintenance. It gives up some suspension travel next to air ride, but it is a clear step up from solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, or any owner who wants simplicity over tuning.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis with an adjustable airbag. More travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and you can dial the pressure to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare to fail, and field-replaceable when it does). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
Most owners who tow a few times a year do not want a hitch that asks for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls smooth, and never needs servicing. There is no air pressure to check before a trip, no airbag to inspect, no compressor riding in the toolbox. If you picked Shocker for the reputation but have no interest in the air-ride routine, this is the line built for you.
Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker
Because the Impact Cushion runs the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog bolts right on, including combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change. It wears a safety red textured powder coat that stays visible on the road and resists chipping, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
