Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
You feel every bump the road hands you when a solid steel ball mount is all that stands between your truck and the trailer. Frost heaves, expansion joints, washboard gravel, and the hard chuck at every stop punch straight through to the truck, your cargo, and your back. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/2-5/16" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs takes the sting out of all of it. Two sealed rubber bump cushions sit right at the hitch and soak up the shock before it reaches you, on the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch but with no airbag to run. That means no air pressure to watch, no compressor to own, and nothing to service. It hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW with 0" to 7-1/2" Drop, drops into any 2-1/2-inch receiver, and runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version while still towing a lot smoother than any solid ball mount.
Key Highlights
- Two sealed rubber cushions absorb the road shock, and they never need servicing
- Hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW and 1,400 lb of tongue weight, enough for a fully loaded trailer behind a three-quarter-ton
- Runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride Original Shocker Hitch for a real ride upgrade that costs less
- The 2-1/2-inch shank drops into F-250 / RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers)
- Safety red textured powder coat stands out for visibility and shrugs off chips
- 7-hole adjustable frame flips over for more drop or rise, so you can set a level tow
- Takes every Shocker ball mount attachment in the catalog, so one base frame handles any trailer you add
- No air pressure to check, no compressor to buy, and nothing new to learn

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Sealed Rubber Bump Cushions
A pair of dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. Every time the trailer tugs or bounces, the cushions squeeze and spring back, catching the road shock right at the hitch instead of passing it into the truck and up through your seat.
It Pivots Instead of Sitting Solid
The ball mount swings on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That pivot is the reason a cushion hitch feels smoother than a solid steel mount that just shoves every bump straight through to the truck.
Sealed and Maintenance-Free
The cushions are bonded inside the frame, so there is no air valve, no pressure gauge, and nothing to service. Bolt it in once and it keeps pulling trip after trip for as long as you own the truck.
Naturally Sway-Resistant
The pivoting cushion design settles the fore-aft jerks that get a trailer swaying, so most light and mid-weight trailers tow noticeably calmer. On heavy loads, still run a dedicated sway control kit for full control.
Built For These Buyers
Reach for the Impact Cushion when you want a smoother tow and would rather never think about air pressure again.
- Weekend and seasonal towers who hook up a few times a year
- Folks who do not want to babysit air pressure or buy a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors running skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Anyone who wants a real ride upgrade over a solid ball mount for less money
- Fleet operators who want a hitch that never needs maintenance
Cushion vs Air Ride: How to Choose
Both ride better than a solid mount. What separates them is travel, tunability, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions, roughly 30 to 40% cheaper, and zero maintenance. You get less suspension travel than air ride and a clear step up from solid steel. It is the pick for occasional or light-duty towing, or anyone who wants simple over adjustable.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis with an adjustable airbag added. You get more travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and the ability to dial pressure to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare to fail, and field-replaceable when it does). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
Most truck owners who tow a few times a year do not want a hitch that nags them for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls trailers smoothly, and never needs servicing. There is no air pressure to check before a trip, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor taking up space in the toolbox. If you want the Shocker name and the smoother ride without the air-ride routine, this is the line built for exactly that.
Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker
Because the Impact Cushion shares the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog bolts right on, including combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change instead of buying a whole new hitch. It is finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stands out for visibility and resists chipping, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
