Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
You feel every frost heave and hard stop through a solid ball mount, and so does your trailer and everything strapped down in it. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K takes the edge off without asking anything of you. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but swaps the airbag for sealed dual rubber bump cushions, so there is no air pressure to monitor, no compressor to own, and nothing to maintain. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/2-5/16" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW, gives you 3" Drop to 5" Rise for a level pull, drops into any 2-1/2-inch receiver, and costs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version while still towing noticeably smoother than any solid ball mount.
Key Highlights
- Sealed dual rubber cushions soak up road shock and never need servicing, ever
- Hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW and carries up to 1,400 lb of tongue weight, enough for the heaviest trailers a three-quarter-ton will pull
- Rides better than solid steel for about 30 to 40% less than the air-ride Original Shocker Hitch
- 2-1/2-inch shank drops straight into F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers)
- Safety red textured powder coat stands out on the road and shrugs off chips
- 7-hole adjustable frame flips over to give you more drop or more rise

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Sealed Rubber Cushions Do the Work
A pair of dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. Every time the trailer tugs or bounces, they compress and spring back, soaking up the road shock right at the hitch instead of sending it up through your seat.
It Pivots Instead of Jarring
The ball mount pivots on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That pivot is what lets a cushion hitch flex with the road and feel smoother than a solid steel mount that just passes every jolt straight through.
Sealed Up and Maintenance-Free
The cushions are bonded inside the frame, so there is no air valve to check, no pressure gauge to read, and nothing to service. Bolt it in once and pull with it for the life of the truck.
Calmer, Less Twitchy Towing
The pivoting cushion design damps the fore-aft jerks that kick off trailer sway in the first place. It does not replace a sway control kit on heavy loads, though most light and mid-weight trailers tow noticeably calmer behind it.
Who This Hitch Is Built For
The Impact Cushion is the right call when you want a smoother tow but never want to think about air pressure again.
- Weekend and occasional towers who hook up a few times a year
- Anyone who does not want to babysit air pressure or own a compressor
- Boat, snowmobile, fish house, and ice house haulers
- Contractors pulling skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- First-time buyers who want a real upgrade over a solid ball mount without overspending
- Fleet operators who want zero ongoing hitch maintenance
Cushion or Air Ride: How to Choose
Both ride better than a solid mount. Where they split is suspension travel, how much you can tune, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions do the cushioning, so it costs roughly 30 to 40% less and asks for zero maintenance. You get less suspension travel than air ride, and still a clear step up from solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty use, or anyone who wants it simple over tunable.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
The same chassis with an adjustable airbag added. You get more travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and the ability to dial pressure to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare to fail, and field-replaceable when it does). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
Most truck owners who tow a few times a year do not want a hitch that nags for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls trailers smoothly, and never needs servicing. There is no air pressure to check before a trip, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor riding along in the toolbox. If you picked Shocker for the reputation but do not want the air-ride routine, this is the line built for exactly that.
Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker
Because the Impact Cushion shares the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog fits it, including combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change over the years. It wears a safety red textured powder coat that stays visible on the road and resists chipping, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
