Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Every bump, expansion joint, and hard stop travels straight up a solid steel ball mount and into your truck, your trailer, and whatever you're hauling. You feel it in the seat, and over the miles it wears on all three. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K takes that jarring out of the tow without asking you to think about it. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, with sealed dual rubber bump cushions doing the work in place of the airbag, so there's no air pressure to watch, no compressor to buy, and nothing to service. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/2" Ball hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW, gives you 3" Drop to 5" Rise to sit your trailer level, drops into 2-1/2-inch receivers, and runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version while still towing a lot smoother than any solid ball mount.

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Sealed Rubber Bump Cushions
A pair of dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. Every time the trailer tugs and bounces, the cushions squeeze down and spring back, catching the road shock right at the hitch instead of passing it up into the truck.
It Pivots Instead of Sitting Rigid
The ball mount swings on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That little bit of give is exactly what makes a cushion hitch feel smoother than a solid steel mount.
Sealed and Maintenance-Free
The cushions are bonded inside the frame, so there's no air valve, no pressure gauge, and nothing to service. Bolt it in once and pull with it for the life of the truck.
Naturally Sway-Resistant
The pivoting cushion design softens the fore-and-aft jerks that get trailer sway started, so most light and mid-weight trailers tow noticeably calmer. On heavy loads you'll still want a dedicated sway control kit, though the cushion takes the edge off the everyday stuff.
Built For These Buyers
The Impact Cushion is the right call when you want a smoother tow and don't want to think about air pressure to get it.
- Weekend and seasonal haulers who tow a handful of times a year
- Anyone who doesn't want to babysit air pressure or own a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors pulling skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Owners stepping up from a solid ball mount on a budget
- Fleets that want zero ongoing hitch maintenance
Cushion vs Air Ride: How to Choose
Both ride better than a solid mount. What separates them is travel, tunability, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions do the smoothing. Runs roughly 30 to 40% cheaper and asks for zero maintenance. You get less suspension travel than air ride and still a clear step up from solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, or anyone who'd rather keep it simple than dial it in.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis with an adjustable airbag in place of the cushions. You get more travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and pressure you can set to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare, and field-replaceable when it happens). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
If you tow a few times a year, the last thing you want is a hitch that nags for attention before every trip. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls trailers smoothly, and never needs servicing. There's no air pressure to check before you leave, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor riding along in the toolbox. If you came to Shocker for the name and reputation but don't want the air-ride routine, this is the line built with you in mind.
Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker
Because the Impact Cushion shares the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog fits it, including combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change. It's finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stays easy to spot and resists chipping, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
