Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
You feel it every time the trailer chucks and jerks behind you: the hard bang through the truck at every frost heave, the wear it grinds into your hitch, your cargo, and your back on a long haul. A solid steel ball mount passes all of that straight through to you. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K softens it. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but in place of the airbag it uses sealed dual rubber bump cushions that soak up road shock right at the hitch. That means no air pressure to monitor before a trip, no compressor to own, and nothing to maintain. It hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW, gives you 4" Drop to 4" Rise, drops into any 2-inch receiver, and costs roughly 30 to 40 percent less than the air-ride version while still towing noticeably smoother than any solid ball mount.

How the Dual Rubber Cushions Do the Work
Two Sealed Rubber Bump Cushions
Two dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. Every time the trailer tugs and bounces, they squash down and spring back, catching the road shock at the hitch so it never reaches you in the cab.
A Pivoting Arm
The ball mount rides on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That built-in pivot is what lets a cushion hitch ride smoother than a dead-solid steel mount, and it is why the trailer feels connected instead of hammering back at you.
Sealed and Maintenance-Free
The cushions are bonded right inside the frame. No air valve to open, no gauge to read, nothing to service. You bolt it in once and pull with it for the life of the truck.
Naturally Sway-Resistant
The pivoting cushion action softens the front-to-back jerks that start a trailer swaying. On heavy loads you still want a dedicated sway control kit, but most light and mid-weight trailers already tow noticeably calmer behind it.
Who This Hitch Is For
The Impact Cushion is the right pick when you want a smoother tow but do not want to babysit air pressure.
- Weekend and occasional towers who hook up a few times a year
- Anyone who does not want to manage air pressure or keep a compressor around
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors pulling skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Buyers who want a budget-friendly step up from a solid ball mount
- Fleets that want zero ongoing hitch upkeep
Cushion or Air Ride: How to Pick
Both ride smoother than a solid mount. Where they split is how much travel you get, whether you can tune it, and what you pay.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions that cost roughly 30 to 40 percent less and never need maintenance. You get less suspension travel than air ride, but it is still a clear step up from solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, or anyone who would rather keep it simple than fuss with tuning.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis with an adjustable airbag in place of the cushions. It gives more travel, a smoother ride at any weight, and lets you dial the pressure to match each trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare to fail, and field-replaceable when it does). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
Most people who tow a few times a year do not want a hitch that nags for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls smooth, and never asks for service. No pressure to check before you leave, no airbag to inspect, no compressor riding along in the toolbox. If you came to Shocker for the reputation but do not want the air-ride routine, this is the line built for exactly that.
Fits the Whole Shocker Attachment Lineup
Because the Impact Cushion runs the same chassis as the Original Shocker, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog fits it. Combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts all pin right on. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change over the years. It comes finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stays visible on the road and shrugs off chips, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse, so there is no border wait.
