Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Every hard stop, frost heave, and expansion joint you hit with a solid steel ball mount slams straight up through the truck, and you feel it in the seat, the mirrors, and whatever you loaded in the trailer. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K takes that hit for you. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but in place of the airbag it uses sealed dual rubber bump cushions that soak up the shock right at the hitch. There is no air pressure to watch, no compressor to own, and nothing to service. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Red Sway Bar Tab Combo Ball Mount w/2" & 2-5/16" Balls hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW, gives you 4" drop to 4" rise to sit any trailer level, slides into a standard receiver, and costs roughly 30% to 40% less than the air-ride version while still towing noticeably smoother than any solid ball mount.

How the Two Cushions Smooth Out the Ride
Two Rubber Cushions Take the Hit
A pair of dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. Every time the trailer tugs and bounces down the road, those cushions squash and spring back, soaking up the jolt right at the hitch so it never travels up into the truck.
It Pivots, So It Rides Smoother
The ball mount swings on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That bit of give is exactly why a cushion hitch feels smoother than a chunk of solid steel bolted behind your bumper.
Bolt It In and Forget It
The cushions are bonded inside the frame, so there is no air valve, no pressure gauge, and nothing to service. Install it once and pull trailers with it for as long as you own the truck.
Calmer Behind the Truck
The pivoting cushion design softens the fore-and-aft jerks that get a trailer swaying in the first place. On heavy loads it is not a replacement for a dedicated sway control kit, but most light and mid-weight trailers follow along noticeably calmer.
Built For These Buyers
Pick the Impact Cushion when you want a smoother tow but never want to think about air pressure.
- Weekend and occasional towers who hook up a few times a year
- Anyone who would rather not babysit air pressure or haul a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors pulling skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Anyone stepping up from a solid ball mount without overspending
- Fleets that want a hitch with zero upkeep
Cushion or Air Ride: How to Choose
Both ride better than a solid mount. The difference comes down to travel, tunability, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions instead of an airbag. Roughly 30% to 40% cheaper and completely maintenance-free. You get less suspension travel than air ride, but it is still a clear step up from solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, or anyone who wants simple over adjustable.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis, but with an adjustable airbag. It gives you more travel and a smoother ride at any weight, and you can dial the pressure to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare, and field-replaceable). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
If you only tow a few times a year, the last thing you want is a hitch that asks for attention every trip. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls trailers smoothly, and never needs servicing. There is no air pressure to check before you leave, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor riding along in the toolbox. If you came to Shocker for the name but the air-ride routine is not for you, this is the line built with exactly you in mind.
Uses the Whole Shocker Attachment Lineup
Because the Impact Cushion is built on the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog drops right on. Combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts all fit. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change. It comes in a safety red textured powder coat that is easy to spot in a crowded yard and shrugs off chips, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
