Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
You know the feeling. Every frost heave, pothole, and hard stop punches straight up through the ball mount, into the cab, and back at whatever you're hauling. A solid steel mount has nowhere to put that energy, so it jars the truck, chucks the trailer, and beats up your cargo. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K is the set-it-and-forget-it answer, and the simpler cousin of air ride. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but swaps the airbag for sealed dual rubber bump cushions, so there's no air pressure to watch, no compressor to own, and nothing to maintain. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Chrome Combo Ball Mount w/2" & 2-5/16" Balls pulls up to 14,000 lbs, gives you 4" Drop to 4" Rise, drops into any 2-inch receiver, and runs about 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version while still towing noticeably smoother than any solid ball mount.
Key Highlights
- Sealed rubber cushions soak up road shock and never ask for maintenance

- 2-inch shank slides into F-150-class half-tons and any class III/IV receiver

- 7-hole frame flips over to give you more drop or more rise for a level tow

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Sealed Rubber Cushions
A pair of dense rubber bump stops sits between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. When the trailer tugs and bounces, the cushions squeeze down and spring back, soaking up the hit right at the hitch instead of passing it into the truck and up into your cargo.
A Ball Mount That Pivots
The ball mount swings on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That little bit of give is what makes a cushion hitch ride so much easier than a dead-solid steel mount.
Sealed Up and Maintenance-Free
The cushions are bonded inside the frame, so there's no air valve, no pressure gauge, and nothing to service. Bolt it in once and pull with it for as long as you own the truck.
Settles the Sway on Lighter Loads
The pivoting cushion design takes the edge off the fore-aft jerks that start a trailer swaying. It isn't a replacement for a dedicated sway control kit on heavy loads, but most light and mid-weight trailers tow noticeably calmer behind it.
Built For These Buyers
Pick the Impact Cushion when you want a smoother tow but never want to think about air pressure again.
- Weekend and seasonal towers who hook up a few times a year
- Folks who'd rather not babysit air pressure or buy a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors running skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Anyone who wants a smoother ride than a solid ball mount without spending big
- Fleets that want zero ongoing hitch maintenance
Cushion or Air Ride, How to Choose
Both ride better than a solid mount. The difference comes down to travel, tunability, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions instead of an airbag, roughly 30 to 40% cheaper, and zero maintenance. You give up some suspension travel next to air ride, but it's a clear step up from solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, and for anyone who wants simple over adjustable.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis with an adjustable airbag. You get more travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and the option to dial pressure to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare, and field-replaceable). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
Most truck owners who tow a handful of times a year don't want a hitch that asks for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls smooth, and never needs servicing. There's no air pressure to check before a trip, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor taking up space in the toolbox. If you came to Shocker for the reputation but don't want the air-ride routine, this is the line built exactly for you.
Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker
Because the Impact Cushion runs the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog bolts right on, including combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change over the years. It's finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stays visible and shrugs off chips, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
