Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Behind a solid steel ball mount you feel every frost heave and hard stop. The trailer jerks, the truck chucks, and a long haul beats up your back, your rig, and whatever you loaded in the bed. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K takes that harshness out of the drive without asking anything of you in return. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but swaps the airbag for sealed dual rubber bump cushions, so there is no air pressure to monitor, no compressor to own, and no maintenance to keep up with. This Impact Cushion Hitch and Raised Ball Mount with 2" Ball and Sway Bar Tabs hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW, gives you 3" Drop to 5" Rise to set your trailer level, and fits any 2-inch receiver. It runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version and still tows noticeably smoother than any solid ball mount.

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Sealed Rubber Cushions Do the Work
Two dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. When the trailer tugs and bounces, the cushions squeeze and spring back, soaking up the road shock right at the hitch instead of passing it up through the truck and into you.
It Pivots Like the Air-Ride Version
The ball mount swings on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That pivot is exactly what gives a cushion hitch its smoother feel on the road versus a fixed chunk of solid steel.
Sealed In, Nothing to Service
The cushions are bonded inside the frame, so there is no air valve, no pressure gauge, and nothing to service. Bolt it in once and pull with it for as long as you own the truck.
Calmer, Less Jittery Towing
The pivoting cushion softens the fore-and-aft jerks that get trailer sway started, so most light and mid-weight trailers ride noticeably calmer behind you. On heavy loads you still want a dedicated sway control kit, but day to day the difference is easy to feel.
Built For These Buyers
Pick the Impact Cushion when you want a smoother tow and would rather never think about air pressure.
- Weekend and seasonal towers who hook up a few times a year
- Anyone who does not want to babysit air pressure or own a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors pulling skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Anyone who wants a real upgrade over a solid ball mount without overspending
- Fleet operators who want zero ongoing hitch maintenance
Cushion or Air Ride: How to Choose
Both ride better than a solid mount. What sets them apart is suspension travel, tunability, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions, roughly 30 to 40% cheaper, and zero maintenance. You get less suspension travel than air ride, though it is still a clear step up from solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, and for any buyer who values simplicity over tunability.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis with an adjustable airbag added. It gives you more travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and pressure you can dial in to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare, and field-replaceable when it happens). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
Most truck owners who tow a few times a year do not want a hitch that keeps asking for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls trailers smoothly, and never needs servicing. There is no air pressure to check before a trip, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor riding along in the toolbox. If you came to Shocker for the reputation but the air-ride routine is more than you want to deal with, this is the line built for you.
Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker
Because the Impact Cushion shares the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog fits it, including combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change. It comes finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stays visible and resists chipping, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
