Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Every bump, frost heave, and expansion joint you hit with a solid ball mount slams straight through the truck and into whatever you're hauling. The trailer chucks, the load shifts, and a long day behind the wheel wears on the truck, the trailer, and you. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K takes that hit for you. It's the set-it-and-forget-it alternative to air ride, built on the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but with sealed dual rubber bump cushions in place of the airbag. That means no air pressure to monitor, no compressor to own, and no maintenance to keep up with. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/2-5/16" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW, gives you 3" of drop to 5" of rise to level almost any trailer, and slides into any 2-inch receiver. It runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version and still tows noticeably smoother than any solid steel mount you'll bolt on.
Key Highlights
- Sealed dual rubber cushions that soak up road shock and never need servicing
- Hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW and carries up to 1,400 lb of tongue weight, the heaviest trailer you'll put behind a half-ton or three-quarter-ton

- 2-inch shank drops into F-150-class half-tons and any class III or IV receiver

- 7-hole adjustable frame that flips over when you want more drop or more rise

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Rubber Cushions Take the Hit
A pair of dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. When the trailer tugs and bounces down the road, the cushions squeeze and spring back, soaking up the shock right at the hitch instead of passing it through your truck.
Built on a Pivot
The ball mount swings on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That pivoting motion is what makes a cushion hitch feel smoother than a solid steel mount.
Sealed and Forgotten
The cushions are bonded inside the frame. No air valve, no pressure gauge, nothing to service. Bolt it in once and pull with it for the life of the truck.
Calmer, Steadier Towing
The pivoting cushion design softens the fore-and-aft jerks that get a trailer swaying. It won't take the place of a sway control kit on heavy loads, though most light and mid-weight trailers tow noticeably calmer behind it.
Who This Hitch Is Built For
Reach for the Impact Cushion when you want a smoother tow without ever thinking about air pressure again.
- Weekend and seasonal towers who hook up a few times a year
- Anyone who doesn't want to babysit air pressure or buy a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors running skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- First-time upgraders stepping up from a solid ball mount
- Fleet operators who want zero ongoing hitch maintenance
Cushion or Air Ride: How to Choose
Both ride better than a solid mount. What it comes down to is travel, tunability, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions instead of an airbag. Runs roughly 30 to 40% cheaper and never needs maintenance. You give up some suspension travel compared to air ride, but it's a clear step up from solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, and for anyone who'd rather keep it simple than fuss with adjustment.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis, but with an adjustable airbag. It gives you more travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and pressure you can dial in to match the trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare to fail, and field-replaceable when it does). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
If you only tow a few times a year, the last thing you want is a hitch that asks for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls trailers smooth, and never needs servicing. There's no air pressure to check before a trip, no airbag to inspect, no compressor riding around in your toolbox. If you came to Shocker for the reputation but don't want the air-ride routine, this is the line built exactly for you.
Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker
Because the Impact Cushion shares the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog bolts right on. That means combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change. It's finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stands out for visibility and resists chipping, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse, so there's no border wait.
